So what's the worst pain you've ever experienced?
Mine was when I had testicular torsion. It pretty much felt like I was being continuously hit in the crotch for two hours.

shareNice topic! I read a lot of responses but not all, at least not yet. After saying that I don't know if mine even comes close to some of your guys'.
But when i got 2nd degree burns from a gasoline fire and i had 5 doctors/nurses rubbing my naked body down to clean all the burnt areas. SHI++Y!!! And needless to say the pain that lasted months after. But anyone who's gotten 2nd degree burns knows that feeling.
HOLY HELL!! IM THE 127TH COMMENT! Haha, nice. Noticed that after I posted.

I can't imagine what being burned feels like.
Wait. Where are you going? I was going to make Espresso...
Probably shoulder surgery. I fell from a very high distance when I was 12 and dislocated my shoulder, at first I didn't feel any pain. My vision changed and everything was so so bright and then I got freezing cold, I was just lying on the asphalt unable to move.
10 years later I got sick of my shoulder dislocating every time I raised my arm and had to have it screwed back in, I have a high pain tolerance so I could live with the pain. My arm was in a sling for 6 weeks and then I started physical therapy. My physical therapist would do very basic stuff like move my arm slightly because I couldn't, working on gaining some ROM. One day her kid was sick so another therapist worked with me. She completely straightened my arm and pushed it over my head, the pain was horrific, unbearable, I couldn't even scream, it was paralyzing, coupled with the horrendous crunching sound, I'm surprised I didn't pass out.

the worst pain is emotional pain, believe me when i say that. i also had 2nd degree burns, broken body parts, deep cuts, blunt trauma etc. the good thing about physical pain is that it can be supressed by medecine or training. its more like a nuisance but what really hurts is the feeling when you lose somebody or when somebody betrays your feelings. it alters your character and changes the very being that was you. it is scary especially when people think they got past soemthing it still sticks with them unintentionally, especially when it comes to trust. the biggest problem is that people dont know most of the time when they hurt each others emotions.
shareGall stones. I was in horrible pain for like 8 to 9 hours. It was awful.

Dislocated knee. When it initially happened it hurt but then when they took it and put it back in place (OUCH). It was in the back of my leg. I was given pain relievers, but it really didnt have enough time to kick in when my knee was placed back in. Navy Medicine can suck.
shareNatural childbirth...worst.pain.ever.
shareI had a sharp pencil in my pocket at school, i put my hands in my pocket and the pencil went underneith my fingernail only about halfway down the nail but its enough
vote for pedro!
When I was eight years old my brother and parents and I drove to the park, we had our rollerskates in the car boot. My dad parked the car, we got out, he opened the boot to get out our skates, and I was standing next to him.
Stupidly I rested my hand on the rim of the car boot, whilst talking to my brother. My dad didn't notice as he was preoccupied with the skates.
And slammed the car boot right down on my hand.
Ouch. My two middle fingers were both dark purple within seconds and my whole hand swelled up for weeks.
I've never known pain like it and hope I never will again.
One of the worst pains I've ever encountered was when I was 6 and broke my arm falling off a horse. That pain I quickly dealt with. But when the cast came off and I felt all this freedom again, I was outside with my sister looking for our two lost donkeys who had escaped. I swung my newly healed arm into a jumping cactus and the burrs gravitated towards my new healed arm and completely imbedded into them.
I will never forget that pain. I was vomiting blood on the second day. A fever so high that nothing would take it down. It was like following a never ending diseased quagmire into a hole that would take me into more pain. I couldn't put into words like that, I was six, but that's about the size of it. Infected cactus pain.
I've had the luck to not experience anything too major in my 19 years. Only things noteworthy:
* The ankle sprain I got maybe two years ago. I've sprained my ankles several times, but this time, I could swear I broke my foot. It hurt so damn bad - 17-18 and crying from the pain! - and that was only made worse by my big brother laughing at me (I guess he just thought I tripped).
* Slipping on ice while running and slamming the back of my head really hard against the ice. Got a concussion from that, and I remember puking and stuff. Pretty bad.
* Falling backwards down a set of stairs (to the basement). I was looking for gloves or boots, can't really remember, and I took a step back and fell and rolled down. I honestly don't even remember how much this hurt, as it was many years ago (I was maybe 6 or 7), but I can imagine it being painful.
* Jumping down from a tree house and slamming my face into my knee. The plan was to land in snow, but there wasn't exactly snow where I landed. Bent my glasses real bad to boot.
* Trying to jump with a bycicle and, upon landing, turning the handle bar and shoving it into the stomach. Hurt like a son of a bitch, and I had a swollen area the size of an apple that was extremely blue and red, which lasted several weeks.
I've never broken anything and never had to have any stitches.

Very good, Louis. Short, but pointless.
