Your Age In 1999?

When the original BWP came out in 1999, how old were you and what do you remember if anything from that time?

I was 12 in 1999 and remember the huge hype and hoopla around the original. I wasn't an internet user at the time but can remember the trailers and previews on TV and people raving about it and remember when the old Sci-FI Channel had their documentary specials. I remember when I finally saw it on cable later that year thinking it was lame. I rewatched it earlier for the first time since then months ago (I'm now 29) and I find it a pretty meh movie overall though I do like the lore and backstory of the Blair Witch.

I was 9. I remember hearing about it from kids in my class who thought it was real and had seen it at home when their parents rented it on video.

I was 24 when it came out and saw it at the cinema. I thought it was an interesting movie and the hype surrounding it was great (that kind of ad campaign hadn't really been seen before, unlike now where all films have tie-in websites etc) but I was disappointed that I didn't actually find it scary. At all.

I was 17-18 in 1999, and I did see the original film in theaters.

I was 20 and I went to watch the movie in the theatres.

That year everybody went crazy for BWP and the Matrix, quite a lot of people considered them "the best movies ever".

While I wasn't a worshipper I have to concede BWP was a relatively fresh concept for that decade, thing that BW obviously is not.
