The Food Poisoning Scene

Did they not try on the dresses and then all get violently ill right after eating the lunch that supposedly got them all sick? Because of the nature of food poisoning, especially food poisoning which causes diarrhea (Which their illness obviously did), it usually has an onset time of over 12 hours. There just isn't enough time for the bacteria to get where it needs to go in the digestive system, and then to multiply to a point where it can have an effect on the body. They all got violently ill like an hour or two after lunch. In real life, that just doesn't happen.

It didnt necesserily have to be food poisioning, sometimes greasy or fatty food can give you diarrhea almost 20 or so mintues after consuming it.

Ashmi any question

I've gotten food poisoning around 6-8 times and more than half the time I got sick within the next 1-2 hours. It happens. I sure wasn't having diarrhea and vomiting for no reason.

Think for yourself, question authority.

That just cannot be further from the truth. Everyone is suddenly an MD online.

I dunno, man... My ass exploded a little under two hours after eating something that really didn't agree with me. And that was even after having to wait out an excruciating 45 minute long drive home.

Count each day as a gift; you never know when the wrapping paper's going to run out.

As a physician you really cannot get food poisoning so soon. You could have had a bad reaction to the food or an ingredient but it wasn't from bacteria in the food. For example if I eat spicy food I sometimes get really sick right after. But this isn't food poisoning as much as my body not being able to handle that food.
Sometimes if my mother eats seafood or greasy food past a certain time she will throw up. Again not food poising because the food was bad but because her body can't handle it.
Food poising is an illness with a fever not your body just pushing out something it doesn't agree with.
Food poising takes around 12-24 hours to show symptoms.
Either way its a movie and a comedy at that it's obviously not ment to be taken seriously.

It most certainly does not "take 12-24 hours to show symptoms."

I ate raw oysters on the shell and was the embodiment of the Bridesmaids scene within about four hours, and continued for the rest of the night. Although I guess you being a physician will try to tell me it was the Snickers bar I ate the previous day. EYE ROLL.

OHHH GOOOD FOR YOU!!

Helen was trying to make peace with Annie. I agree with that now. She probably knew it was food poisoning x

my husband had food poisoning twice since I have been married to him and both times it happened within a two hour of being at the restaurant. And it was as bad as the movie...like he was running inside a random store and about to poop in his pants. that scene was maybe exaggerated a bit but pretty accurate too.
