If you have living relatives from the 80's...
And they've watched the previous Indy films (excluding Crystal Skull), I say take them with you on this one final adventure.

shareThat would be torture! This will be far worse than Skull!

Who has any living relatives from the 80's?????
That is so long ago even dinosaurs would not remember them.
Come on, you cannot be serious!
My dad said he watched the first Indiana Jones movie in theatre with his dad when it was first released in 1981. He must've been about 8 years old. His dad died several years ago. I would not want to go see this movie with my dad. I'd rather just rewatch the old ones with him at home.
shareThat would be me, too. I turned 50 last year and was around 8-9 when I saw Raiders back in 1981 - scared the living shit out of me.
He turned 50 back in January. Pretty sure the face melting scene gave him nightmares, made us close our eyes during that part
shareIt was the face-melting, the Angel of Death just before, and all of those ancient Egyptian corpses and the ones in the Hovitos temple as well, that did it for me.
I'm about the same age as you and also watched Raiders in the cinema as a kid. Those mummies in the Well of Souls were the scariest part for me.
shareLast film I saw at cinema (before covid fubar'd cinema) was Star Wars IX in 2019, its only apt the film to resume my cinema going (started 1981 Superman II) should be Indiana Jones (first Indy I saw was Temple of Doom in summer 84 then obviously Crusade & Skull)
share80's was just the best time to grow up in. Lot of imagination and innovation in cinema at the time. Now it seems we've exhausted a lot of it with the movies that get churned out today.
shareIt's not exhausted. Plenty of original ideas and creativity left in the world. Just too much risk for the Hollywood executives. Much safer to release something with a familiar title and built-in audience.
shareWhy would I do that... this one looks like trash.
shareMy great, great grandma is from that era but sheβs seen too many hardships in her life to put her through watching this movie.
