does anybody still care about sw?
franchise is dead
shareI don't. I thought Disney ruined it with the new trilogy but had hope after The Mandalorian. When that crap went down with Gina Carano, I quit. Canceled Disney+ and refuse to ever go back. Disney has destroyed the Star Wars franchise and I don't care any more.
sharei don't understand the fascination over a mediocre bounty hunter who got ate by a giant desert worm.........
is it the cool suit? i guess it's the cool suit
maybe. I thought I didn't, but when Mando went to that Ringworld city and something NEW with the franchise finally started happening, I actually found myself feeling a bit of the old magic.
shareThe Mandalorian is literally one of the biggest series in the history of serialized shows, so yes.
sharewhat about game of thrones?
shareThis had more viewing minutes globally it's first 2 weeks than any other show. I'm not saying it's the best show ever, just that it's had a ton of viewers.
shareGame of Thrones was a complete WASTE OF MY TIME. If it had ended well and satisfactorily, I would've considered it one of the greatest TV shows of all time, but no, the last two seasons, and especially the last one, treated us like MORONS and was a complete FAILURE. I'm just sad I followed such a long story with a non-ending. Fucking hell, even the original BOOKS aren't completed yet, and the author is sitting on his thumbs not doing bloody much about it.
Face it, GRRM is NO JRRT.
It's been two seasons. It's not The Sopranos, The Shield, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The West Wing, Deadwood, Mad Men, et all.
To do that it has to have a complex storyline, intriguing character development, intense acting... I don't see it yet.
Game of Thrones FUCKING SUCKS. The bad ending destroyed the rest of it for me.
I'm still waiting for episodes 4.5 (between ANH and ESB) and 5.5 (between ESB and ROTJ).
I'd watch them if they found a cast who could pull it off well and make it feel the same.
But they seem to want to go and do stuff about specific characters and tell their stories.
I never cared about it. I care about my family, friends, country and planet. The series is not finished nor unpopular thus not "dead".
shareIt was finished for a long time, from 2005 to whenever shitty Disney bought it up. I was satisfied then. And then we got the shitty Sequels. Rogue One and the Mandalorian with Baby Yoda were the only good things to come out of it.
Losers
shareI never saw another Star Wars after "The Last Jedi"
The Force Awakens and the Last Jedi so ruined the franchise for me and went so rogue from the universe Lucas had created that I was done with it and haven't seen any Disney made Star Wars since. I didn't see Solo, The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian, Boba Fett......I won't see anything again. I am done.
I see they keep just rehashing back stories on all the old characters "Baby Yoda" (yes I know it isn't actually Yoda just his species), Boba Fett, I hear an Obi Wan show is coming.....they still had Tie Fighters and X-Wings in Episode VII & VIII, they still had characters falling to the dark side and the Rebels vs Empire angle.....they had Death Star number 3 (wouldn't the destruction of these 3 things killed like 500,000,000 o a billion people and cost like 10 sextillion dollars in loss?.....how could any entity recover from that.....well Episode VI did end with the empire losing, Vader and the Emperor dead, some Star Destroyers being destroyed and a 2nd Death Stars destruction and the millions and millions dead there and the Quintillion dollar loss)....they haven't made up any new material or taken the story into other directions and into the future, they have just been thinking of 30 ways to milk anything Lucas had made up 40 years ago. How about a back story on Tarkin or Lando or Wedge or R2D2 or you name it. I'm sure Disney will do it. They tweak the Falcon or an X-Wing or Tie Fighter and think they'd "created" something new. They'll make up another Star Destroyer class.
Disney Star Wars to me is an utter disaster.
I no longer care about Star Wars and will never watch it again.
