The hell? They went full diverse in this too?
Why not continue what they started in the opening of QP2 with the original characters?
Do they want to make less money?

Didn't they already do that in QP2?

CUTE.🙄
shareI'm just curious to see how they get a black woman to keep quiet for 2 hours
Definitely science fiction. Chris Rock, Tommy Sotomayor, Tariq Nasheed, Dante Moore, Anton Daniels, James Earl Jones, and the ghost of Kevin Samuels would all readily agree. Such sights are more rare than Whites in The Rust Belt who haven't mistaken all the braindead crud they hear on Fox News for Holy Writ
I'm just curious to see how they get a black woman to keep quiet for 2 hours
Why would they make less money? Because there's a black male and female lead?
shareYes. Haven’t you been paying attention? Why do you think Disney is $2 billion in the hole?
shareBecause capeshit is juvenile and boring and repetitive. Moreover, many of Disneys panned films do not have black leads (Do any of them?)
Why would it matter if the leads are black if the premise is good?
Capeshit was making billions till they switched to diversity lol
shareCapeshit still makes lots of money. Just less. But it's the same old story over and over and over.
It's exhausted. Spend any time near anyone who likes the MCU and they'll say the same thing.
I'll ask again, generally: Why would it matter if the leads are black if the premise is good?
Go woke Go broke.
shareSo how come Bridgerton, The Last of Us, Euphoria, Sex Education, Ginny & Georgia and Heartstopper were all successful?
shareBridgerton has only been on for 2 seasons and its a UK show, not relevant.
The Last of Us has only been on for 1 season. Saying its successful is laughable.
Euphoria has only had 19 episodes. Saying its successful is laughable.
Sex Education has only had 32 episodes. Saying its successful is laughable.
Ginny & Georgia, no one watches this show. Saying its successful is laughable.
Heartstopper has only had 16 episodes. Saying its successful is laughable.
If any of those shows makes it to 100 episodes then let me know.
>Bridgerton has only been on for 2 seasons and its a UK show, not relevant.
Bridgerton has an American screenwriter, and is produced by an American production company for an American streaming service. Plenty of Americans watch it. Why is this?
>The Last of Us has only been on for 1 season. Saying its successful is laughable.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/the-last-of-us-season-1-finale-ratings-1235351440/
"Sunday’s finale averaged 8.2 million viewers across all platforms for HBO, up slightly from the previous week’s 8.1 million and an opening-night high for the nine-episode season. According to HBO, The Last of Us’ first six episodes are averaging 30.4 million viewers since the Jan. 15 premiere, with the debut episode closing in on 40 million viewers.
The 30.4 million figure, should it hold as more returns come in on the final three episodes, would mean that The Last of Us is bigger than House of the Dragon, which averaged 29 million cross-platform viewers over the course of its run in the late summer and fall of 2022."
>Euphoria has only had 19 episodes. Saying its successful is laughable.
How so? Why does the lack of episodes matter? Chernobyl only had 6. It was a miniseries. Was that not successful? Band of Brothers only had 10. Was that not successful?
>Sex Education has only had 32 episodes. Saying its successful is laughable.
I'm getting the feeling you don't know much about modern TV. TV shows are not as long as they used to be - and all the most acclaimed TV shows: Succession, Better Call Saul, Band of Brothers, Chernobyl, Breaking Bad have had between 10 and 13 episodes per season.
>Ginny & Georgia, no one watches this show. Saying its successful is laughable.
https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/ginny-georgia-season-2-netflix-most-popular-english-tv-list-500-million-hours-viewed-1235515790/
"Heading into its fifth week on the Netflix Top 10 list, Season 2 of “Ginny & Georgia” was viewed an additional 38.09 million hours pushing the title’s overall tally to 504.77 million hours viewed. This places the series on the streamer’s list of most popular TV titles at No. 10. During the Jan. 30-Feb. 5 viewing window, the show’s sophomore season ranked second on the chart."
>If any of those shows makes it to 100 episodes then let me know.
It is not 1998 anymore. TV shows aren't built on the "monster of the week" episodic format in a race for syndication. Most old-style TV shows with 100+ episodes were generic police/legal/medical procedurals or family sitcoms.
You sound like you know absolutely nothing about modern TV.
The model for modern TV has changed since the inception of streaming services. People can watch TV shows on their phones now thus changing the dynamics of how TV shows are watched.
Band of Brothers and Chernobyl are miniseries and are not comparable to regular streamed shows.
TV shows are going to have more views because its easier to watch nowadays. And it seems like every new show has to be edgy and filthy just so people will watch. I miss the days when shows were PG and could be watched with the whole family.
I dont think we will ever see shows like Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends, Full House, TNG and The Office again. Modern viewers now expect violence, gore and sex in the shows they watch.
So yeah, I guess I dont know nothing about modern TV.
>Band of Brothers and Chernobyl are miniseries and are not comparable to regular streamed shows.
Were they "not successful" now?
>TV shows are going to have more views because its easier to watch nowadays. And it seems like every new show has to be edgy and filthy just so people will watch. I miss the days when shows were PG and could be watched with the whole family.
Yes, people like dark, gritty fiction.
I'm sorry you are a prude who can't apparently stomach blood or mature content.
>I dont think we will ever see shows like Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends, Full House, TNG and The Office again. Modern viewers now expect violence, gore and sex in the shows they watch.
But there are plenty of modern PG-rated shows that do not have violence, gore and sex.
Band of Brothers was made before streaming services, so yes it was successful.
People like dark, gritty shows because they have become immune to violence. Sex and violence begets more sex and violence.
Can you name one successful modern comedy TV show or any TV show that doesn't have any cursing, sex or violence in it? Because the last funny show I watched was Community and that was over 15 years ago.
>Band of Brothers was made before streaming services, so yes it was successful.
So why wouldn't Chernobyl also be successful?
Streamers can still see how many viewers their shows have.
>Can you name one successful modern comedy TV show or any TV show that doesn't have any cursing, sex or violence in it? Because the last funny show I watched was Community and that was over 15 years ago.
Community had literally no swearing in it?
Ted Lasso and Abbott Elementary are quite successful comedies. I don't know how "PG" they are, but they aren't MA.
Chernobyl is a streaming show. The criteria is different for a successful show.
Community literally had no swearing in it until the 6th season. I think it had one F bomb. Its a great show, you should watch it sometime. If you have a weird sense of humor then you might like it.
Been wanting to watch Ted Lasso but dont want to pay Apple just to watch one TV show.
Abbott Elementary is too woke for me.
>Chernobyl is a streaming show. The criteria is different for a successful show.
What do you mean "the criteria is different"?
Heartstopper, Sex Education, Ginny and Georgia and Bridgerton are also streaming shows. Why were they successful?
TLOU and Euphoria are HBO, and thus technically "cable" shows but in practice they're watched on streaming now.
As for family-friendly comedies, I don't really watch that type of thing. I can't help you.
😂
share"Capeshit was making billions till they switched to diversity lol"
Implying a hollywood movie making millions means its a good movie.
Avatar anyone?
SILLY.
shareIt's like "The First Purge" where they did that. I guess anything with "Day One," "First" or whatever in the title goes this way.
shareThat was a small dinky town. This time it's a major city with 8.4 million people and lots of noise. More death and first-rate special effects. Bigger and better!
9 million views. Great buzz. This movie is going to be a hit.
Yeah, if it takes place in the big city, why wouldn't it be a lot more diverse?
