I still think the script is messy - overly convoluted and I still don't know where (or what timeline) Pops came from. But never mind, I like the cast and I like the interactions and action and I'm content to ride along and enjoy the film as it is.
It was intended to be the first of a trilogy, they were probably gonna answer where Pops comes from etc, but since this was such a box office bomb we'll never gonna know.
I have no idea if you're right because I have no intentions of watching it again, but if I HAD to re-watch one of the newer Terminator abominations I would choose this any day over Dark (Feminist) Fate.
I think it's definitely underrated. A lot of intentionally unexplained questions. The poorly written/casted/acted Kyle Reese.
But on the whole, I think it's a fun ride, and a nice homage and sequel to the original, even if it also had to steal some of the better ideas from TSCC in the process.
It's a popcorn film. And way better than Salvation imo. Finally got to see another good future war scene since Salvation failed to deliver any of that for me.
I enjoyed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Im at a loss at the moment. What did this movie steal from that show?
I feel like the first third of Terminator Genisys is awesome! I just couldnt get past how they made John Connor into the villain.. I did love the ending though. Was the only film where the good terminator actually survives.
Yep. They should have stuck to their guns and powered through with the sequel. Sometimes an audience won't get to liking something till they see the whole picture.
