Not quite as atrocious as some say... still bad though.

This flick isn't a 1/10 like some are saying. More of a 3 or 4.

I liked it, 6/10 for me. I was expecting 1.
I enjoyed the production quality.

I wonder how much studio interferens cuz the second half was not great.

Hard movie to rate. A bit of a bore, not good but decent production values (the cinematography and editing were the best things going for it). The acting was okay from some of the cast.

The slickness of the movie drags it up towards an average rating. I'll give it a 4/10 on IMDb.

I wouldn't question studio interference, I'd question DGG's I.Q. Halloween Kills and Ends were absolute shitshows. The guy keeps making messy movies.

reply

You are not wrong!

Next thing you know, Blumhouse along with DGG will be in talks for The JAWS LEGACY TRILOGY where they'll do away with the other 3 movies including JAWS 2 and trot out a 86 year old Lorraine Gary to make up for the turd known as JAWS IV: THE REVENGE

reply

I would love for Blumhouse & DGG to go completely original and create a new TRILOGY called "ManBat" About a wealthy son of a patriarch and Mongul living in the city og Hamgot fighting crime in a cape.

Agreed the second half was terrible. Right about when Reagans mother shows up. But then there are little moments that are good. The final depiction of what one the girls was experiencing in the watery hole was pretty creepy and well executed. I always pictured the blair witch having an ending like that. But yea ends up being like a 5 /10 if not a 4 . For me

reply

I agree. It was too long and i found myself bored sometimes waiting for something to happen. Also it felt more like a stand alone movie than a direct sequel to the original. Ellen Burstyn isn't around for very long and doesn't do much and Linda Blair only got a few seconds of air time. And the iconic score from the original, which you think they would've taken advantage of, is sparsely used through out. I'd give it a 3.

I'll be watching it later. Not expecting much.

First viewing 5/10
Second viewing 3/10

I liked it. :) The first one is still the best, though.

Saw it last night expecting an unwatchable mess. The whole first act with the missing girls was intriguing. But it goes downhill after they are found.

reply

I agree, it wasn't horrible. It was watchable, just mediocre and a non-scary "horror" movie.
