I'm sorry but I found this to be pretty stupid.

My wife and I watched this last night after thinking the previews for it were half way decent looking. Sadly, we both agreed that it was pretty lame and thought it was one of the "stupid" comedies. I felt that it was nothing like Superbad or Pineapple Express, unless my sense of humor has drastically changed over the years.

I watched The Worlds End a day earlier and I thought it was infinitely more entertaining.

Come to think of it, yea, it is rather stupid. I think one poster said it turned into a narcissistic movie ... I will agree partially to that. It had moments of promise, but in the end it's more of a "highlight reel" type of movie - like Kick-Ass - than a "Gonna watch this in its entirety, again!" type of movie. It's still good, though. I just take it for what it is (and quietly wish the screenplay was mucho better).

You and your wife sound like a drag to be around. You should divorce.

"Christ Almighty, it's the Goddamned Watchmen!"

I think they're perfect for each other. Two mediocre, bland, probably obese, stick in the muds.

Some people can't get this type of humor. They don't see the inside jokes, or the parodies. If it's not ALL spelt out for them, and told to them through exposition, it's lost on their tiny fragile little minds.

this is a stupid movie.
example 1: when seth and jay are talking about not eating gluten and carl jr, i know exactly what will happen next; they eat at carl jr.did somebody laugh at that joke?
example 2: depicting other movies, exorcist, rosemary baby, not funny.
example 3: seth saying about him with large chest, and tittie *beep* by cops, and attempted by jonah
the concept is good,a bunch of actors trapped in a house during apocalypse.but the story really kills it.they should hire a good writer.

You're kidding, right? This film was plainly made by tiny fragile little minds for tiny fragile little minds.

And the plural of "stick in the mud" is "sticks in the mud."

I'm trying to make sense of why this movie was so bad. It just goes to show that what looks good on paper can often have an unmatched reality.

Ironically, it is actually pretty rare to see a good performance from actors required to portray themselves. You'd think it would be easy for them. But what we saw were the exact same characters from Superbad and Pineapple express. It really makes you think that all this time, they are just being themselves in all their other movies, which greatly decreases their acting range.

I get that it is just supposed to be a fun movie, and not to be taken seriously whatsoever, but I guess I couldn't help from keeping my expectations high for this one. But I feel that is reasonable from what these guys have consistently put out.

Haha you think they don't know that? They couldn't be more self-aware of that themselves, heh. They just don't give a *beep* and that's why I loved This Is The End, it's just another kind of entertainment. And it was hilarious too.
Why does every movie have to be the same? People expect it to have a good storytelling, the characters to have development, the plot to have a point... No! Although it does have those elements at some extent, this was just made by Seth Rogen and Jay and their his buddies, the comedy gang, to play themselves and make fun of the end of the world that was supposed to happen at the end of 2012. And yes, I and many other people wanted to see hell out of it so bad. It was the only movie I was eager to see in 2013, the trailer looked and still looks awesome, greatly caught my attention. Hell, I'm actually gonna watch it again soon, it's been a while.

Really disappointing. I had to turn it off. I'm sure they all had fun, but they should have kept this one to themselves. I found the scene where they were making the sequel to Pineapple Express much more entertaining than the actual movie.

This movie was good, but not great. With 5 being average, I'd probably give it a 6.5.

Unrealistic, over the top comedies tend to tread a very fine line between stupid and funny, and in this movie the jokes fell somewhere in the middle. The ending itself was great at first, but then ended on such a horrible note...

I plan on watching The World's End sometime in the next week. I'm expecting it to be much better.

it is

Apology accepted for your lack of a sense of humor.

reply

pointless.. and not funny.
I give it a 3.

While I agree that it wasn't as good as Superbad or Pineapple Express, those were also "stupid comedies".
