Why not just make Mad Max 5?
I don't care about a Furiosa movie. I want to see more of Max.
shareTo do that, they'd first have to make a Mad Max 4 with Mel Gibson. It's like how Charlie Sheen was discussing making a "Major League 3" as his comeback but they already made a Major League 3 without his character, and hired Scott Bakula instead.
The economics of movie making has changed so drastically that nothing in todays world will appeal to the traditional crowd. Almost everything made today is made for effeminate, gay, trans, woke, type people etc. there's no audience for 80's style Mel Gibson, Stallone, Arnold, etc. the people that do like that stuff usually aren't working or if they do work they don't make much money. As far as the vast majority of us citizens, they're not even middle class anymore they're poor. Hollywood will make a movie for the people that do make money, you know the one that's sitting in offices and make $38 an hour doing nothing but watch social media on their phone getting more woken woke by the day. "Did you get that email?, I sent you a meeting reminder, can you believe I gained five more pounds last month?"
shareNot really.
That wouldn't explain why the woke movies has a lot less success than the non-woke ones.
Indiana Jones, the Marvels, etc ...
"Deadline recently reported that The Marvels was the biggest box office flop of 2023, losing distributor Disney $237 million."
So, no, they are not making the movies "to make money" or "to appeal to a larger audience with more money".
Most of the audience doesn't care or even dislikes woke products.
Every movie has woke elements now.
shareSure, but not every movie is made to further the woke agenda and lacks anything else.
Let's take RoP and HotD. Both have woke elements. HotD is still a good show while RoP is a shitshow because it doesn't have anything else.
Marvels is just agenda and nothing else. That's a woke movie, NOT just a movie with woke elements.
True, some movies are more woke than others but realize almost all the high level staff in all corporations are FULL of wokesters and they insist every movie have at least a few woke elements. They're really talentless hacks but that's most people nowadays.
share "woken woke"
lol
and great post. and we will never see a true guys movie ever again. movies and cinema are basically dead, you either get a woke movie or a comic book movie.
Max was never what the movies were about, it was the world the stories were set in .
If three Mel Gibson movies had three different characters in the lead , it would make zero difference.
They wanted a female protagonist all along and Fury Road was a backdoor pilot for that.
sharebecause there's been enough movies about him!
shareYou know, I actually agree. Three movies were more than enough.
That's why I wish they would stop slapping his name on to try and sell films that have nothing whatsoever to do with him or his story.
i think this is the actual answer. George Miller has nothing more to say with the character. i'd rather have whatever this is then a soulless cash grab cashing in on an IP. I know he he says he has Max's story mapped out too. But George Lucas said all sorts of silly things like that too.
