No Max? Who Cares?
Another prequel/spin off nobody was asking for.
shareSort of like The BOURNE LEGACY without Jason Bourne in it
shareAwesome movie. Fleshed out the Bourne-verse. Wish they made more of it.
shareAgreed, I liked it a lot.
shareIt was a well done film, but it should not have been called Bourne whatever. They should have just named it something else.
shareAny suggestions on what to call it considering it was a direct part of the Bourne universe? Even if a cynic could call it cash-grabby, I don't think the title was misleading or inappropriate.
shareWell, they could have called it:
The Treadstone Conspiracy
The Blackbriar Legacy
Operation Treadstone
The Treadstone Legacy
The Blackbriar Conspiracy
However, none of those would have been commercially successful because most people wouldn't have been aware of what those titles means, even though they are more directly related to the events of the film and the characters in them. So I understand why they named it what they did.
If I recall correctly, and I may well not, weren't the events of Legacy a direct result of Bourne's rebellion?
shareBourne Legacy was great
sharelol, Mad Max without Max.
shareHardy’s soulless, boring Max was the worst part of Fury Road.
If this film starred Theron and wasn’t a prequel, I’d be interested.
I'll pirate it... But not really interested in paying to watch Anya Taylor-Joy... Her facial deformity is unsettling and does not belong on the big screen as a lead.
shareWell, at least he made the tagline.
shareI'll just say I find the trailer intriguing. I've followed George Miller a long time and tbh he's not half as good as when he was with his buddy Bryon Kennedy. I didn't even like the last 2 Mad Max movies AT ALL.
But the question is: Will I pay to see this movie in a cinema? Probably not but I'm old lol.
, few years ago id go see lots of movies with wild abandon, but now it had to be VERY important (to me) to bother going to see at at cinema (as opposed to waiting for dvd/blu. I don't stream). So last year it was The Flash (for Keaton and all the DC cameos), Indiana Jones and Mission Impossible (which I saw bc the Indy showing I went to was taken over by Barbie, I hadn't intended to see MI like I hadn't bothered with last one at the cinema). And before last year at pre covid cinema was Star Wars IX (so no Bond, Spiderman, Matrix, Batman, Top Gun, Jurassic, Avatar etc all stuff I would've 100% gone to see a few years ago, although the pandemic played its part, I probably would've seen most otherwise )
This year I *might* see Apes, Alien and Gladiator 2. but no guarantee (probably likely I will see Apes/Alien as are important core franchises to me). But doubt I'll see Furiosa (despite Mad Max being one of those important series to me)
