I beg to differ.
It's extremely unlikely that a woman who grew up in a tribal culture whose entire focus is survival β against harsh environmental conditions, food scarcity, dangerous wild animals and enemy tribes β would be more concerned with an individualistic need for self-expression.
In fact, the whole idea of her wanting to be a hunter instead of possibly even disdaining it as "men's work" sounds as plausible as a young Comanche man being very likely to decide what he really wanted to do was gathering fruit, weaving clothing and caring for the tribe's children.
But the thing is, the writers consider hunting a more glamorous and/or important job, and believe the only reason anyone wouldn't do it was if they were actively prevented to β and so, here we are. It's an unfailing hallmark of woke writing: the complete inability to conceive of any world outside of one's terminally online progressive bubble.
