looking at the posts here, almost no positive...

none of the "wow, that was unexpectedly good", "this was great", "really enjoyed it!"

does anyone like this movie? It's okay to me, i just don't care about any of the people, or their plot or cause. it just plods through some stuff
-- and of course has NO ENDING (until part2 of course) bleh

I loved it. I read the books, so my experience is different from most people. I do know that part two is going to blow people away. It's that good.

PJ did a far better job bringing LotR to the big screen ...but this first installment of Dune was pretty good.

The 1984 version is FAR superior. Even the syfy version has more impact than this bland version. I have no idea how people can say it's so great.
Perhaps they were wearing their spit-covered dirty-ass face diaper throughout the film, and so they couldn't get enough oxygen to realize it sucks. It's drab, colorless, and doesn't even demonstrate the actual folding of space.

It was good for the small amount of time Zendaya was in it.

I found it extremely comfy in the cinema yet I knew the story already. Think main issue is how a lot thought it "cut off" too quick and I agree. I would have changed the ending and at least had some more scenes with Chani's Zendaya to better establish her character and importance. So I can understand those who haven't read the book or watched original (so many forget the 2000 mini series which to me was deeply underrated) be a bit turned off like "it just ends like that?"

Me and my fam lasted 52 mins and we all wish we had ducked out earlier

reply

It is because more people are interested in just bitching and refusing to let others enjoy things.

reply

I was okay with it overall, but there were parts of the film that left me dissatisfied.
