There was a 9 year old!!

Okay in my town this movie is 14A so if you're 14 you can get in but anyone younger needs an adult with them. So I'm 14 and went and seen this with my whole family. Mom,uncle, grandma, sister and my siter's friend(17 and 16). There were other 14 year olds and stuff. As I'm leaving the theatre I seen a 9 year old walk down the stairs with her dad. She had a Hannah Montana shirt and everything. Plus this was the late show so like starts 9:50 end at midnight kinda thing.

I'm not one to discriminate parenting but I thought was pretty bad.

I'm 14 and thought this movie was pretty sexual for 14A.

You know the speed of light;so what is the speed of dark ?

I went to see titanic when I was eight, saw poltergeist when I was 6 - 7 and on and on. Age ratings are overrated. I never had nightmares because I watched them. IT more depends on the kid than the age. Haven't seen this movie though, so don't know about the sexual content. Maybe the 9-year-old just didn't understand those parts? Or maybe the little girl dragged her father a long because she really wanted to see it, because she can take it and because she sees movies like this all the time. It doesn't ultimately mean that the father is a bad father.

So, dear 14 year old, tell me: Do you feel damaged by the movie? How about you were two Years younger?
You think the movie has the power to damage you? If so, you can't have grown up under stable circumstances. Not movies tell you about love and sex and everything. Your surroundings do. I think people should chill more about movies and everything and center their attention to the real life again. There are enough problems which are much more dangeorus. Like not supporting teenagers in situations they need an orientation.

I definetly hope you have people who care for you, and by that, I don't mean them to watch over the movies you like to watch but more about what friends you have, how educated you are and so on.
Much more important!

The actual bad parents are not the ones who take kids to see movies not for the kids age. But the ones who blame the movies afterwards for their childrens behaviour. Parent will find any excuse to blame an outside influence for their childrens behaviour. Posts like this just pander to that need.

I grew up in the 70's/80's on a diet of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Porky's, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist and numerous Kung fu Movies. I have yet to kill, rape or maim anyone. Yes I swear a lot. But that is a result of an Irish upbringing, not my movie preferences when I was a child.

Bart Simpson said it best, "If you don't watch violence, how do you expect to get desensitised to it?"

This movie is "barntillåten" (approved for all ages) in Sweden. Most Swedes don't think sex is an issue that does bad things to watch on screen for young children. I think most Swedes are good people and being introduced to sex on film at a young age probably doesn't hurt almost anyone. I mean, it certainly didn't hurt me, I have a healthy relation to the question matter.
Worth to notice is of course that hard core pornography is always rated 18.

Violence, on the other hand, isn't look upon mildly. Most PG-13 rated movies for violence are rated 15 in Sweden. I think violent teenagers are much, much worse than teenagers having sex. But then again, the US is a religious country compared to Sweden.

When I read that most of you think 14 agers shouldn't be allowed to see this and yet they can see films with LOADS of violence, I don't understand how you think? Like Clerks being rated NC-17 in USA just for language? That movie was also Barntillåten in Sweden.

That's cause they treat their kids like infants!

I have no problem if they censor violence in a movie and rate it to PG13 cause that could totally harm our children but could a kiss or two harm our kids or a curse word like f-ck for example? It's ridiculus and very funny of course!

Sex is natural but violence is not. We need more love and less violence in our lives!

Maybe it's inappropriate for a 9 year old, but a 14 year old would be more than fine with this movie. They probably understand more than everything mentioned. There are way worse movies that 14 year olds have seen.

I agree shelter kids are the ones w/ the problems .. my old bestfriend she wasn't aloud to date until she was 16 (a religious thing, she was a Mormon), and well recently turned 19, has a kid going on 3 in May !

Really, that's so sad!

No wonder you have so much problems with teen pregnancies in the US when you don't educate them well enough. They need to learn that love is an amazing thing but also how to protect themselves and that wearing condoms is very important.

If there's a God there's a Santa and they're both pedophiles btw!
