Not seeing a lot of hype compared to the last Thor movie
Think this one isn't going to be recieved as well critcally and will underperform at the box office

shareMCU movies in general haven’t gotten the hype they once did. I’m not one of these people saying that the franchise is dying or whatever but it’s not wowing people like it used to for whatever reason.
share“For whatever reason”? People noticed how bad they got after Endgame, even by MCU standards; a lot of the marketing has focused more on wokeness which is a turn-off for most people; and there seems to be no real goal in sight in terms of what’s connecting these movies. Stuff’s happening, but what’s it building towards?
Spider-Man’s been single-handedly carrying phase 4 so far, with Dr Strange 2’s success arguably being reliant on No Way Home.
That reason is Tony Stark. The hype is hella-dead.
shareThe trailer got 35M views in 12 days. That's a whole lot of interest right there.
shareWait for the next trailer to give an opinion.
shareIt's summer and a lot of other movies are out now and people just don't have July on their mind yet. Top Gun is the big movie now. I'd give it a few weeks. I do feel, with the trailers released a few weeks ago, the hype/chatter has been growing. It's just not on people's minds at the moment.
I am very excited to see it. Thor and Captain America are my favorites of the MCU and now that I am finally caught up on all the movies and shows I am super excited for this to be my first opening night movie in a very long time. The last movie I saw on opening night as 'Civil War.'

Prepare for "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" level disappointment. Don't say you weren't warned...
I don't go in overhyped anymore. Last time I did that was The Dark Knight Rises and I absolutely hated it. I just go in and watch it for what it is now. I am one of the oddballs that actually liked and enjoyed Thor The Dark World and prefer a more darker, Shakespearian, fantasy based story. Ragnarok was....ok....and I expect Love and Thunder to be the same. But it still looks fun and I am more excited for this movie than I have been for the others.
shareYour Thor thoughts are close to my Thor type of character. As a Marvel fan I grew up with the serious (but still love struck for Jane Foster) Thor. I mean she actually flirted with Hercules just to tick-off the God of Thunder!!!
But I digress. Tiaka has killed off all of the greatest side characters that Thor has ever had, the Warriors Three, Hela, Surtur, the Enchantress plus the Executioner, and Odin himself.
I really needed the regal Majesty of Asgard coupled with Game of Thrones to be part of the MCU and not the one joke destruction just to have a character arc for Thor Odinson.
I expect Thor:LAT to be the same. I will enjoy it but will not be sated and still need some Old-School printed page Thor.
yea. I've never read the comics so all I can go by is the movies and this one cartoon of 'young Thor' that was released sometime after Thor 1. I really enjoy that midieval/lord of the rings/high fantasy side. I actually hated they killed off the Warriors 3 and Sif. And they did it in such an unceremonious way; practically off screen and with barely a tear shed. They were his best friends and supporters! I can completely understand Thor being a tough character to fit in to the 'real world' but I thought they did an amazing job up to Ragnarok. Again, I am just going in to watch it as a summer pop corn movie. I love Hemsworth as Thor and I don't hate Portman as Jane so am interested to see what they do. but I am sorry they felt they had to make Thor almost into a joke. He had some really great funny moments but not at the expense of his character.
shareHulk was a big part of the hype for the last one.
Thor and Hulk had some of the best scenes together in the first Avengers film.
With Love & Thunder they’ve bought back Jane Foster, one of the most boring characters in all of the MCU, not exactly a hype builder.
My biggest concern is tonally it could be a mess seeing as Taika’s writing is primarily comedy focused yet they’ve got Gorr the God Butcher as the villain. I think Bale could be a fantastic villain but I hope he’s given plenty of screen time.
It seems like you say this a lot. If you predict most major releases to flop, obviously you'll be right occasionally, and very wrong occasionally, but you might as well flip a coin if you're going to say it so often.
