Sandra Bullock too old for Ryan Reynolds. Who should have been Margaret?

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but, while I enjoyed this movie, I was distracted by the 12 year age difference between Margaret and Andrew. I think Sandra Bullock is too mature, now, for these types of frivolous fluff movies. I could think of a lot of younger actresses, maybe a few years older than Ryan Reynolds, who could have done as well or better playing Margaret. Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Mila Kunis. Just a short list. Who do you think would have been a better fit?

"...distracted by the 12 year age difference..."

I kind of think that was the intention........she is older than he is
which makes a statement about so much of it. . .
It means more than had there been another female lead closer to his age e.g.
Reynold's ex, the blonde who he dated in high school and college.

I not for once stopped to think about the age difference. If you had asked me, I'd say they're the same age...

Gosh, first of all, love HAS NO AGE!

Sandra was totally okay for me, she is beautiful :)

sassomer, when men stop being in movies with women twenty to thirty years younger than them get back to us with your opinion.

Cici: "Oh, I'm sorry my bad, I thought you were someone else".
Ghost Face: That's OK, I am"

OMG the character was older! thats why the family were shocked. How could Mila Kunis or Emily Blunt play a woman in her 40s

I pity you, thinking age is ever problem.
Not to mention this story evolves around desperate measures, she tricked the younger inexperienced guy.
The inevitable falling in love ... yea, you got me there, typical Hollywood DUUUUUH

I love the fact they had an age difference.

And I've always enjoyed Sandra Bullock's performances in most things since she was in Speed. And it would be cool to see her and Ryan Reynolds in something else together.

I don't mind her being in frivolous stuff like this when I know she can act in things like Gravity. I was surprised by Reynolds as I thought I would cringe watching him but actually, he was okay.

Age difference worked for me. Believe it or not, when a woman gets older, she doesn't stop feeling like she did when she was 21 and can still look at a young guy and feel attracted to him.

I'm lucky I'm a little older than my husband and he's got a babyish face too so people always think he's much younger -

It wouldn't bother me if he was a lot older either as long as he had the same face, lol.

are you a fool OP?

The whole point of the movie is based on that

First off, she is his boss. So if they are of the same age, that's stupid.

Secondly, the added advantage is that pisses off his dad more, to see his son marrying some old woman. Why would he be pissed if he marries Megan Fox or Jennifer Lawrence?
