The middle class yuppies in their 4x4 had it coming. It wasn't their beach, it was the kids', and the kids had every right to be pi**ed-off with the invaders who thought they could just turn up and demand they turn their music down.
It was the yuppie bloke that started all the trouble by confronting them, when all the kids had done was turn up at their favourite place with their bikes and dogs to hang out.
The kids were the locals, the yuppies were the invaders. The escalation was entirely the result of the yuppie trying to show off to his girlfriend by being macho. The moment he touched the volume control was the moment he declared war - which is always a bad idea if you're a) on someone else's territory and b) outnumbered.
Trolling poster is trolling. Or at least I hope bc if you really thinks the *beep* you wrote let me tell you, you have mental issues and should consult asap.
I agree with the poster of this thread, and he's not a troll. When it comes down to it, real life is just to cruel to fight back, instead its best to avoid trouble.
Anyone who sided with the kids here is a douchebag.
This is a very frustrating movie, because Fassbenders character is unable to see past the fact that these guys are kids. But at what point do you stop treating kids like kids when theyre obviously dangerous? At some point,he should have realized you couldnt reason with them, that the leader was a psychopath and done what he had to to make sure he walked out of those woods alive (which didnt happen).
If a 13 year old broke into my house with a knife, ignored my warnings to disarm and lay on the floor and wouldnt leave, 13 or not, Id shoot him. A 13 year old with a knife, is just as dangerous as a 30 year old.
By the time it had gotten to the point of the campfire scene, I wouldnt have asked for my keys and wallet back, I would have taken them.
There's a majority of good human beings on here - and I know that many come here for answers and to solve their confusion after watching a powerful movie like this and I can assure you not all people think like the thugs in the movie or the OP.
It can be disturbing to see a movie like this because it lowers your trust in fellow human beings while watching, seeing people attack, torture and kill others but it's mostly sick individuals who would ever do anything like that.
My opinion is yes, it's *beep* up what they did, and no, they(the innocent couple) didn't deserve it. Then again I'm not *beep* in the head and maybe that's why. They tried to avoid trouble the whole way through, and people are allowed to stand up for themselves when being bullied or attacked, and the killing of the dog was an accident as it was clearly shown, and the thugs were acting like : stupid loser thugs.
BTW, for anyone looking at this thread, I'd recommend just ignoring it, the OP has been keeping it up for 2 years now as others have said and when you watch a movie like that, you wonder "are there actually people that are like that?", and the OP is playing into your fear and enjoying it. Just ignore it and carry on.
Yes theatredream, I began to wonder about that - two years. For two years the OP's been arguing in favour of torment, torture and murder as just punishment for the outrageous crime of... asking a group of teenagers to keep an eye on their dog. That's some impressive dedication to being a fascist scumbag.
Either that, or he's just a troll with A LOT of time on his hands.
The kids didn't own anything. Now the kids that died in the movie will never own any land, and the stupid kids still alive are probably too dumb that they never will either. That whole town was an "evolutionary cul-de-sac".
