You guys are crying over a stupid dog?
There are people out there, yes PEOPLE who have feelings and a conscience dying out there, there are children starving to death and you're crying over a lousy dog? Shame on you.

shareWell, what do you think about crying over bad hair and wardrobe choices in movies? I can't help it...I just do.
Dying is a natural part of life. Every living thing dies...there is nothing we can do about it.
However, there are lots of things we can do about what actors wear and the way they do their hair.
Now, do you understand? I hope so.
"You suck on a tit the movie gets rated R. you hack it off with an axe, PG" Jack Nicholson
To the OP, why can't someone care for all animals? Just cos you watch Marley and Me doesn't mean you can't care about starving people. This argument that humans are more important than other animals doesn't make sense, we obviously care about our own kind but I can connect to a cat just as I can to a human. I cried for hours when my guinea pig died because I lost a pet that I loved. I can't say I love people in Africa that are starving but I do wish they didn't suffer

But I won't be caught standing still
You know... I asked myself the same question. I cried so hard watching this, but I don´t have an answer for it.
I just think that anyone who have, or had had, a pet will be touched by this movie, and I also think that we have become a little insensitive to some "human" problems.
Anyway, one feeling doesn´t supress the other...
I would love to see that guy try to kick my dog. It would be great to see her maul that little bitch and then see how tough he is

Crying is an emotional response. It isn't as if somebody sits down and runs an algorithm to determine their "tears priority". If somebody is going to cry over something, they're going to do it (unless the circumstances of doing so are detrimental).
Now, I would never cry over a dog biting it. But if somebody does so, they are going on instinct, not prioritizing their grief.
Fear is the Mind Killer
"prioritizing" grief?
I cried watching the movie because it brought up the death of my own dog a few months ago. I loved my funny little guy. Where should my "priorities" have been?
And for those who believe the cryers don't care about humans, you are missing the obvious: One reason for the sadness is empathy for the humans involved. I cried not for the dog but for the humans who loved him.

It's disgusting, fleshy humans like Darth Immortalis that make us Gordanians want to fire the death ray on your planet and silence your whines about people crying over dogs forever!
Just kidding, but the OP is a jerk. I mean, we weren't crying just because Marley died. No, we cried because the Grogans lost something they had loved for years, we cried because we followed this so called "stupid" dog for the whole movie, and we cried because, by the end of the movie, loved that dog.
Now go feed some babies, butthole.
There is no sense in this judgement at all. Do you go about your daily life and start crying when you think of children starving? No you do not. However if you watched a movie that presented the kinds of the things you are talking about then yeah probably some of us would have cried. We, in fact, did not watch those movies. We watched Marley and Me and the subject matter hit home for a lot of people and they cried.
Unless you are the most pathetically sensitive person alive you are not walking around crying over thoughts of children you don't know.
Personally, if I saw a dog and a human about to be a hit by a car and only had time to save 1 I'd be hard pressed to save the human. Digs are loyal, compassionate, and loving. Humans are the most violent, selfish, and brutal things on this planet.
The OP comes here to purposely seek attention. Mission accomplished. Shame on you. I know deep down in your heart you care. Even if you don't, you're still worthless.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. So be it. But, there is nothing wrong with loving a pet and mourning the death of that pet. Not everybody would shed a tear for an animal, but a lot of people would and I have to say that I would be one of them. There is no shame in feeling sadness after the death of an animal. No shame at all.

Who the hell says that you can't care about people, starving children, et al AND dogs???? How small-minded you are. Shame on YOU.
shareI personally prefer dogs to humans myself, nothing beats the greeting of your dog when you return home having been out all day.

Me too - I like most dogs better than I like most people! I have four and they are all so happy to greet us when we come home!
shareThe greetings of my wife beat those of the dog any day of the week. Dogs are cute and playful...but ultimately dumb.
