I believe that Kimberly was working on another project at the time that this latest Halloweentown movie was being filmed. If you look at her page on imdb it says that her latest project is Big Bad Wolf.

Obviously you're all 13-15 mostly girls and gay boys. It's a Dcom movie not a big motion picture even then it's just a "movie". I also think this sara girl (whatever her name is) will make a better marnie, because the other girl was just so freaking hideous with her effed up teeth :] She was fine in the first two movies but when she started looking like an adult she just looks extremely annoying.

Okay. This is what I think about the situation. I think that Sara would make a good Marnie, because they have the same facial shape. They better dye her hair brown or I will be mega upset. Also, I find it so depressing that they are using well known actresses now for these disney movies. I loved not really knowing much about the old girl that played Marnie.

shareIt's not that I have a problem with Sara in this movie. I still want to see it really bad because of Ethan and Dylan. But, when I saw the commercial, I was smiling and saying 'It's cool that Sophie is taking over after Marnie'. Then they said it wasn't Sophie. I just like Sophie I guess. And Sara reminds me more of Sophie than Marnie, certainly not in looks either way, but the way she acts. I don't know. It really doesn't matter. I'll check out the movie and see what I think about her filling Kimberly's shoes.

shareI am pretty annoyed that they couldn't keep their same actress all through the movies. You're right Sarah looks nothing like Kimberly. I don't think that she will be as good as Kimbery. I hate when movies do things like that switching actors throught the series. Except for when they are really young like in the first and second one Sophie was played by two different people, but you couldn't tell so that was okay.

Why are people blaiming this on Sara... It's not her fault. They were making a 4th one and Im guessing either Kimberly was buisy or just simply didnt want to do another film.
Now I can understand people not liking it because Kimberly isnt in it and shes being replaced with Sara and how the grandmother isnt really in it much. But it still looks like a decent movie.
But I do agree. I personally think they shouldnt have replaced her character. I do think thats stupid. If it was the 2nd movie and they did this, I would have said why not. But this is the 4th and they already established a trilogy to the movies. I think they should have just introduced new characters. They could have had Dylan etc and just introduce a new main character etc. It is after called "Return to Halloweentown". The title itself says "New" in a way. But I dont think they should have replaced her but what can you do? She either didnt want to do it (which I can understand...three is enough) but at the same time, I dont think it would have hurt her career. And two, she prob was busy doing another movie. Kind of like when Zenon 2 without Raven. It just happens. But what can you do?

I mean sure the Halloween town movies were something like a must for the halloween season in the Disney Channel. I mean I use to watch these movies ever year during Halloween season. However there is no way I'll be tuning in to see this one, NO WAY. I mean I HATE when they recast people for a movie's sequel. It's stupid specially since this one looks WAY younger than the first aftress that played in the first 3 films. I mean this new girl looks 16, going to play a college girl? um... dont think so.

And personally, I wouldnt want to be apart of a 4th film if I was replacing an already established character. Who knows, they will prob do 2 more Halloweentown movies with Sara created 6 altogether. Things like this always happen. They either introduce someone new (which they should have done) or they replace the character. This happens with tv shows and movies. Movies sequals that replace the actors etc. Ex. Charmed - Prue/Paige, Bewitched- Darren, Roseanne- Becky, That 70s Show- Erics sister, etc. I dont understand why people are getting so worked up over this. It is just a movie, theres nothing you can do about it. The first 2 movies were great. Nothing is as good as the first 1-2. Third was horrible. Just like the 3rd Zenon. The 4th looks a bit better but I dont like the idea of Sara replacing Kimberly either but theres nothing you can do about it. They really should have just came up with a whole new cast and storyline.
Yes they dont look alike and alot of people are attached to the old characters personally i think that they should have had the story about 6-7 years after the last movie and then use sarah as the little sister that would have been somthing different with the story and if the really had to replace kimberly they should have just not made another movie because kimberly came out in all the other movies and it is preatty dumb now that there going with the whole school thing.
sharei am so mad @ disney for casting her as Marnie Piper instead of the orginal actress. i love the halloweentown movies, but the 4th is going to suck bc the orginal actress isnt in it. i cant begin to explain how angry i am with disney. it makes no sense to replace her with sarah. there is no resemblance what-so-ever. im sure the original actress who played Marnie would have returned for the role even though she is like 22. but she will always keep her "young look" no matter how old she is.
