Why would they even try to make her a Marnie? That makes no sense at all. If there is no Marnie, why would you even try and replace her? It's not like people aren't gonna know the difference! DUH! I love the Halloweentown Trilogy, but please..

I also loved the Halloweentown movies and I am 40 years old! It was a special thing that me and my 13 year old son enjoyed together. But without the real Marnie and bits and pieces of Agatha, it is not a Halloweentown movie!

i totally agree!i LOVED the halloween town movies and with sara paxton in it,i think she would ruin it but no offence to those ppl who absolutly love her but they dont look anything like each other!and she looks sooooooooo ugly with the brown hair!but the first girl(forgot her name)didnt want to continue with it so thats y she left and they had to find a quick replacement so yea.

They should have filmed around her schedule. And they should have gotten different writers. This film was so different from the first three, besides the casting change. I hope they make another to redeem themselves.

I just want to know why Kimberly J. Brown isn't Marnie anymore. But also i think they should've stopped at three because now the stroy line is just getting ridiculus. I love Halloweentown, but I'm depressed that there is no real Marnie anymore.

Actually, the name change happened with Halloweentown High, not with this one.

So the brother is going to look WAY older then Marnie with Sara playing her, what with her being 17, while he is 19? Isn't he supposed to be a couple years younger then Marnie?

Ugh, I wasn't a big fan of the last Halloweentown movie, without Kimberly now, I'm really not going to like it.

I hate Sarah Paxton, Why Change the Actress so Far into the movies, Its like when they replaced Becky on Roseanne! and Sophie isnt going to be in this one.
Debbie Renyolds will make a cameo appearance, and I hope we will at least see Halloweentown,not like in Halloweentown High. It should of been called Mortaltown High, and hopefully we can expect something out of Gwen and Dylan Piper, (Ohh and too all of you, would thought it was a name change, It wasnt Gwen Cromwell got married to a Piper, therefore the children would be Pipers, and Agitha Cromwell would stay the same.

ok...so everyone is taking this a LITTLE to seriously. I mean, ok it wont be the same without kimberly, but that doesnt mean the movie is going to be bad. You havent even seen it so you shouldnt judge it. At least watch it before you draw conclusions to thinking the movie is bad.

^^ totally agree with you. there have been many times where a new actor comes in for another movie...val kilmer came in for batman, they always stitch james bonds...things like that. people should wait to see the movie until everybody decided. it will probably garner good ratings anyways because even though everybody is negative about it...quite a few people will tune in jus tto see if its as bad as they think it will be.

I was excited to see this movie at first, but when I found out that blondy-girl like Sara Paxton is being Marine. I was sick and mad. What happened to make them not get Kim back? She's wonderful at playing Marine. I mean this movie won't be as populiar without her. I'm not going to watch it. I can here alot of people saying GET KIM BACK!!! This movie will be like Prince & Me 2 because Julia wasn't there an dno one liked it. I also heard that the woman, who plays Agathea would be just making a cameo appearance and Sophie isn't going to make an appearance.

REMAKE THIS MOVIE AND GET KIM BACK!!!!!

And also, I seriously dont remember there last names ever being Cromwell, They are Cromwells by blood, not name. I really don't like that potion excuse you gave. Marnie wouldn't change her appearence like that she's too level headed. You obviously don't get the character. I do agree with you about people making such a big deal about it I think if the plot fits and Marnie's look is the only change it is no big deal.

Everyone, I agree. This movie is going nowhere. I hope that one of the movie makers come onto this site and see how we feel about this. I'm just so dissaponited. Sad. And depressed. This movie came off to a great start back in 1998, and now look at what it came to. I want Kimberly back. She is what completes the movie! And Sophies not going to be in it. And the grandmother is going to make a cameo appearance. I just want the adventure of all of it to come back, I mean now shes going to a university? Why don't they just make it a soap opera and end the whole thing. I want this to be fixed!!!

When I first saw the previews for this I thought, “Oh! Sophie’s going to witch school!” But when it said Sara’s Marnie, I thought, “WHAT?!” Why didn’t they make it about Sophie??! And I think Kimberly isn’t back because she either didn’t want to do it, or they think she’d too old now. Sara will never be Marnie. Plain and simple. Love Sara, but she plays a better mermaid than a witch.

If they couldn't get her or didn't want to, okay than at least make Sarah like her cousin who lived in Halloweentown who we never met before, you know. How dumb does Disney think we are?? Seriously?

I hate Sarah Paxton, always have. Halloweentown High was not good at all. They have dragged this out way to long....its been what? The fifth movie? Enough is enough! They should of left it at two....those were the best ones.

Now that Sarah Paxton is in it PLAYING THE MAIN CHARACTER, mind you. I know for sure it is going to suck. It is not going to be the same....

Well, in Halloweentown High, the character is "Marnie Piper," but in the first 2 she's "Marnie Cromwell." But the grandma still has the original last name!

I know!I was so confused when they said Sara Paxton was starring as Marnie!No way,this girl can pass off as Marnie.Nobody is going to accept her as Marnie.It just doesn't work like that.Kimberly J Brown will ALWAYS be Marnie,no matter what.And why didn't they focus on Sophie in this movie?In Halloween Town High they hardly gave her any lines,if any at all.Sophie is my favorite character!

The "Pipers") out half the time, then they put a dumb blond in Kimberly Brown's place. Not that i dont have anything against Sara Paxton, but when she takes Kimberly's place... Sophie was hardly in the last one, either. I really missed the character, and can't figure out what TPTB are thinking. Is this the Chuck Cunningham Syndrome?

As for the new actress instead of Kimberly, no, I won't watch the movie without her. If they had made her one of Marnie's classmate, or a niece or something, I might have, but to put in another person as Marnie is a no-go for me.

OK for me it's not that Sara Paxton will be staring in this Halloweentown. It's the fact that I didnt even know she was supposed to be Marnie I just assumed she was playing Sophie since it all made more since. What with how much younger Sara looks then Dylan.
It also would have played out better if she was Sophie cause we could assume that Marnie was not living in the house and that it was Sophie's turn to go to Halloweentown. Besides in a preview I just saw 4 it, it said that sara's character would be discovering amazing new abilities that she was just learning how to use. And since Sophie did get her powers at a young age it would seem fit for her to be getting those amazing new abilities.
Oh and what's with Dylan being in Halloweentown he doiesnt like magic??
