Just watched the first episode. Feeling far removed from caring.
When they just make 10 or so episodes per year, and then sometimes take more than a year between seasons, this is BS.
Studios should commit themselves to producing a series - all at the same time, beginning to end, at whatever rate they come out - usually daily or weekly.
It's all special effects moving with no particular plot reason from one effect to the next.
Season 2 even more clueless than season 1, and neither seems to have anything to do
with the book.
Golly it's boring. I'm not saying Season 1 was action-packed, but Season 2 seems to meander quite a bit. Haven't found anything to care about or connect with yet. They also seem to be upping the sexuality of the characters in lieu of story. Gonna have to punch myself awake for Ep 3 I have a feeling.
A Kardashev Type III civilization is a concept proposed by the Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev as part of a scale measuring a civilization's ability to harness and utilize energy. In this hypothetical scenario, a Type III civilization would have achieved mastery over the energy resources of an entire galaxy. They would be capable of harnessing the energy output of billions of stars, possibly through advanced technologies like Dyson spheres, megastructures that encircle stars to capture their energy. This level of energy control would enable them to manipulate the galaxy on a grand scale, potentially shaping its structure, powering colossal projects, and facilitating space exploration and colonization on an interstellar level.
OK, just a fancy jargon term, like a step up from Dyson Sphere.
The thing is that, at least I believe we will never have any kind of FTL drive, and even if we did the relativistic effects would make this kind of civilization impossible.
Foundation series really sucked because it was not even science fiction - it was magic/fantasy.
I liked Expanse, even though it was not perfect it was far more believable.
I was wondering about eg:
- a few hundred people = 'the foundation' somehow in 200 years overtake whole empire technology-wise and inventing a new great way of space travelling. One that gets by without specially made creatures that empire needs for it.
And they also invent another thing (a substance that makes the creatures independent) somehow.
