This movie was an insult to human intelligence.

After viewing this ridiculouse excuse of a film, I have come to realise I have no more faith left in humanity. Seriously? Is it just me or are people really getting dumber these days, every single Hollywood cliché was used in this film, there was no imagination in the script whatsoever...it was made for stupid people, who are incapable of thinking for themselves, like mindless drones that Hollywood has produced for a quick cash crop. What happened to those movies like Resorviour Dogs and Fight Club, why are we constantly subjected to this banal tripe like Avatar, which only rely on big budget spending on advanced technological eye candy for success at the box office...where is the *beep* story, character development, they keep forgetting those two aspects because they are no longer relevant anymore, it's because the intelligence level of the human gene pool has dropped significantly in this past decade. The mainstream media has turned you all into cattle! Fewer and fewer movies that require a certain intellectual thought process are being released each year. *beep* all you people, who enjoy this sh**. I’m glad this movie failed at the box office, but it won't make a difference because Hollywood will still keep churning them out!

Thanks for reading, just needed to get that off my chest because I was forced at gunpoint to watch this film...I honestly don't like to be reminded of how dumb people are for watching movies like this, it's just depressing.

Hey OP, you're kind of a tool.

It is really quite a stupid development in movie fans today - that they demand every movie to be 'new'. They seem to ignore that that what THEY call 'cliche' is what a great many FANS call 'FUN'. What THEY call 'lazy writing', a great many fans call 'rejoicing in a genre'. My 2 cents is that there are far too many film goers today who take themselves far too seriously. Loosen up. Instead of fighting against every movie you see, try giving in to them. The best stories out there are the most familiar because it is the expectation of favourite parts and certain characters. It is what story telling is ALSO all about.

Oh dear, the OP appears to be living in a fantasy world of scaremongering and inflated ego!

Hollywood has kept itself afloat since the 1920s primarily through the recycling (or 'churning out') of genre and cliche, whether that be in the form of musicals, westerns, film noir, or in this case lighthearted action fluff.

If an audience enjoys a film, Hollywood will essentially remake it over and over until the audience gets bored. Now, if you believe this is because people are stupid cattle, then they've been stupid cattle for over a hundred years, and The Losers is really the least of your worries.

As for the idea that you have to struggle to seek out a film of any 'worth', I'm not sure where you live but showing within the past week at a single mainstream cinema here has been (alongside the likes of Twilight, The Karate Kid and Shrek 3D) Inception, I Am Love, Tetro, Skeletons, Il Divo, Wild Grass, Bluebeard and White Material.

Which I'd say represents the mainstream availability of quite a few choices for people not wanting to see a lot of CGI smash into more CGI in Iron Man 2.

And to close, I watched and gained some form of enjoyment from both Bergman's Virgin Spring AND The Losers last night.. go figure.

My question to you is:

When was the last time you got laid?!

Just a reply to the OP. Really, you have to settle down. I was nearly deterred from watching this movie because of the incessant ranting that was going on here.
I'm glad I did watch it. It was a fun movie, well acted, well cast, and not poorly written. Did I require a higher level of thought process? Absolutely not. Am I stupid because I enjoyed it? Nope.

And seriously, if that's all it takes to lose your faith in humanity, where the f*#k have you been for the past couple decades of film?!? Far worse movies that classify as drivel have been made. This was at least fun.

But by all means, I wouldn't mind being enlightened to your higher learned ways of film. Let me know where I can pick up your directoral debut, and I'll be sure to watch it as well.

Stop being so damn serious. It was a great movie. Movies are for entertainment -- and this movie was extremely entertaining.

Here's the best part:

If you didn't find this funny, then there's something wrong with you.

HAHA, I love reading peoples opinions. It's like people watching at the mall, seeing a 400 lb woman in a tube top and nothing anyone says will change her opinion that she looks good.(it is 1 in the morning, best analogy I can come up with)

I thought Fight Club was boring! It had an interesting twist at the end, but getting to that end was a nightmare. Citizen Kane was boring, but it is considered a classic American film. Most "intelligent" movies are, not to say that they aren't good (I liked them both). But if I just want to unwind after a long day of work and be entertained, I would much rather sit down to a Loser-like movie than Fight Club.

From the very beginning of moving pictures, they were meant as a form of entertainment. One of the earliest full length (at 14 minutes) films ever made was of a spaceship landing in the moons eye and moon monsters with spears chasing the astronauts. It wasn't meant to be a thought provoking narrative on the human existence (although I am sure someone will explain a deeper meaning here) it was meant to entertain.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I agree fully that The Losers was fairly cookie cutter, made for the masses, typical Hollywood action movie, but that is why I watched it!

Movies like Fight Club are interesting and intriguing. In the end you walk away thinking about what you just saw. But I wouldn't say they are really entertaining. I would rather walk away trying to do the Crane kick on my friends, than go to coffee after the movie and discuss what deeper meaning the soap making represented. That doesn't make me unintelligent, just like enjoying Fight Club doesn't make you smarter.

And the Crane Kick in the real Karate Kid movie, NOT the remake!!! Saw Jackie Chan in an interview, and he didn't even know who Mr. Miyagi was. But that is a topic for another board.

I really cannot stand people like you. You and that fossil Morgenstern from the WSJ. People who go into every film with hopes of seeing an oscar nominee, expecting to be dazzled. I mean, did you even bother watching the trailer before you saw this film? What were you expecting? No I did not LOVE this movie but it was entertaining and had some well done action sequences. I also knew exactly what I was getting into when I pressed play. You are the one who is dumb for expecting anything more from films like this. Get over yourself and learn when to have high expectations for something and when not to. How can you call someone else dumb when you actually thought this movie had a chance of having a deep plot.
