This movie was an insult to human intelligence.

After viewing this ridiculouse excuse of a film, I have come to realise I have no more faith left in humanity. Seriously? Is it just me or are people really getting dumber these days, every single Hollywood cliché was used in this film, there was no imagination in the script whatsoever...it was made for stupid people, who are incapable of thinking for themselves, like mindless drones that Hollywood has produced for a quick cash crop. What happened to those movies like Resorviour Dogs and Fight Club, why are we constantly subjected to this banal tripe like Avatar, which only rely on big budget spending on advanced technological eye candy for success at the box office...where is the *beep* story, character development, they keep forgetting those two aspects because they are no longer relevant anymore, it's because the intelligence level of the human gene pool has dropped significantly in this past decade. The mainstream media has turned you all into cattle! Fewer and fewer movies that require a certain intellectual thought process are being released each year. *beep* all you people, who enjoy this sh**. I’m glad this movie failed at the box office, but it won't make a difference because Hollywood will still keep churning them out!

Thanks for reading, just needed to get that off my chest because I was forced at gunpoint to watch this film...I honestly don't like to be reminded of how dumb people are for watching movies like this, it's just depressing.

Cheers man!I feel the same everyday!PEOPLE=SHI(F)T

I enjoyed "Clay it's pointed at my d!ck man, it's pointed at my d!ck"...

Come to think of it, Chris Evans is easily the best thing in this movie after Zoe Saldana's ar$e.

When people learn the dif between "I don't like this" and "This sucks", it puts a smile on my face.

reply

Wow, this has a lot of replies that my lazy ass doesn't feel like reading.

I just wanted to say this: what is hollywood supposed to do between the hits? Stop making movies? Every producer knows that you gotta make a bunch of mediocre films during the downtime between the best films. Families have to eat.

If you haven't noticed, they schedule films to start production so that they will end production at a target time plus or minus 3 months.

reply

Hrm, charity case movies. lol

reply

How about, stop paying douchebag actors insane amounts of money?????

There are still lots of good films being made along with all the crap. It has always been like that. Blockbusters are like that because they appeal to the casual movie goers (the majority) who aren't serious about films and don't want to make an extra effort to watch a film. You just have to know where to look for the good stuff.

reply

Yes, it's true. It's possibly the fluoride in the water?

Anyway, for a great example of how bad movies have become and the audiences they are being aimed at, check out Cop Out.

Worst movie in the last decade.

Hey thanks for all the reply's, I'm glad to see that I'm not alone on this one.

Yes, though it is getting quite ridiculous, im actually forced to go to a film festival this weekend just so that I can actually watch a half decent flick. It really is getting that ridiculous that I have to associate myself with the "artsy" scene just cause any film that tries something different immediately falls into that category and is marginalized to the point where you have to go out of your way to find them at these "underground" film festivals.

Ahhh I guess those days where you can head to your local cinema to be pleasantly surprised by something fresh and imaginative are now over, or there really was no such thing as "those days". The point is I just remember that awesome experience years ago, I honestly don't know what the *beep* has happened now. Anyways that's enough pointless rambling for me now.

For instance this is the film im seeing this weekend, it's called Metropia:

In my honest opinion it looks perfectly capable of being released in cinemas but I guess it is too far out there for some of you "McDonald's" eating folk. Mooo

reply

i'm sorry i just have to lmao for a sec at all this...like many before have said you went into this thinking you were going to see something thought provoking or something? i'm still laughing as i'm typing this...in fact i've been laughing the whole time it took to read all the thread...

not to mention the idea that because someone enjoyed it that they're unintelligent and cows?

and if you walked into a cinema and picked from a gang of movies you knew nothing about and got a well acted thought provoking movie....i'd say you were lucky...perhaps try that 10x in a row and see how it plays out...

thanks for brightening up my morning though....

"Yeah, but we won't care."

WOW! I remember those days when I came right out of film school and shot down all the commercial movies because I felt I was so educated about REAL film. And opted for the "deep" independent movies. Then I realized that many independent movies are so desperately trying to be different but a lot of them are the same old same old. And usually depressing too. Don't get me wrong there are some good ones and I usually like to go to see film festival films because you get to see various cultures/nationalities/customs but aside from that it is nothing overly-spectacular.

"They told you you were stupid, ugly and doomed to fail............and you believed them"

reply

This movie was pretty terrible, have to agree with the OP on this one.

reply

Yeah, the world would be better off without you. Buy a six shooter, gets the job done quick. Just aim at your head and pull the trigger. Are you gonna say the same thing about the expandables? cause it'll be exactly like the Losers, except with known action stars and higher budget..

reply

I believe there is a line that goes like " The King is a fool. Then what are we, that follow him? " rough paraphrasing

This is what I feel when I read the OP's post. Apparently he saw the trailer, and was expecting Schindler's List; who are the makers of this movie that dare to betray his expectations. Fact of the matter is if you believed this movie was going to be anything other than what it was when you paid for it, you are the biggest fool/cattle (or whatever analogy you want to use) of all. People watch movies for different reasons and sometimes that reason is mindless entertainment; they just want to sit back and relax and take there mind off things, and let the movie do all the work. I want to see inception, and from what I here its complex and thought provoking, but I do not want to watch inception each time. And frankly before I go I will know what to expect.

Let me save you the trouble, do not bother seeing Expendables, roughly speaking it will be this movie with a better "action" cast (which cast is more talented acting wise is up for debate".

Lol, You must be Dumb for watching it... so stop calling everyone else dumb, YOU HYPOCRITE

so what if i watched it... is a freakin movie who gives a s***T.Im not on here complaining about the damn film.

reply

You are an idiot. Not only do you not mention one thing that occured in this movie, but you bitched and moaned like a baby. If you didn't know, this movie was based off a comic book, so blame andy diggle for the "crummy" plot. If the end result of watching this movie was depression, then you need to go out and find help. Cheers.

reply

Since when did something being based on a comic become an excuse for total mediocrity? Sin City is a kajillion times better than this steaming pile of poop.
