People who find Aristocrats funny, simply aren't.

You can go on about pushing the limits of taboo, exploring our perceived notions of tolerance or looking beyond the content of a joke to find its humour but the bottom line is that this film must be one of the worst ever made. It lowered my opinion of both comics (who seem to be narcissistic creeps) and Americans (who everyone hates anyway). I feel sorry for anyone unfortunate to have been seduced by the attractive cast (and attractive it is), spent money and taken more time out of their lives than was necessary to see this in the cinema. I urge anyone with a sense of humour to avoid it at all costs.

You have been warned.

0/10.

Please list everything you find funny, and I will tell you which ones you are wrong about.

Thank you.

May I ask, after you tell people whats wrong with what they find funny; what is your next trick?

Whatever people find funny in this film is funny to them. They cant BE wrong!

(shhh that's my point!)

Both at the movie and your inflated ego post.

I just finished watching this movie for free and I feel robbed.

I just saw this film for free today too and I don't feel robbed.
It took me a while to warm to it and I did't have as many belly laughs as some others in the audience, but I certainly did some laughing!

reply

I can't recall any films (or life experiences, for that matter,) that left my jaw aching so much from trying to hold back peals of laughter. I surprised myself, giggling at *beep*-this and cum-that with my girlfriend sitting beside me. And here I thought I was such the intellect... This feeling of laughing in spite of myself, of my constructed facade of propriety or whatever, this feeling was the most informative thing about the film, for me. Because dammit I didn't want to be laughing at the South Park 9/11 bit, but there I was: shocked at the material, shocked at myself, and busting a damn gut. What an interesting film; what an interesting experience.

For goodness sake, there is no need to go on the attack. So you didn't like it, fine, but to invoke international relations is a bit much.

You people who constantly bash those that hate this film only hang yourselves. Your hostility and arrogance belies your criticism of those who don't like The Aristocrats. At least the posts in protest of this film are funny.

Your lack of creativity only underscores our point. Can anyone that likes The Aristocrats come up with anything funny to say that doesn't involve "lmfao at you, douchebag!"? Seriously, you only reinforce the complaint that this movie is for people with the mentality of a 10 year old boy.

RT Firefly: Not only was I sure you had watched a different film to the rest of us, now I am certain that you are reading a different board to the rest of us as well.

Attacks on this film and those who find it to be worthwhile currently include:-

"People who find (The) Aristocrats fun simple aren't"
"What has hell wrought? Can there be this many losers in the world?"

as topic headings and qupte that include:-

"Have you noticed those who say they like this film defend it like a scientologist defends BE? Is there a cult of incestuous fecal whores?"
"Do not subject yourself to this torture or you will be scared for life."
"I think there's a little inbred union of lame comics that are very busy on this site."
"it is interesting how all the people who praise this film appear to be idiots"
"I find it hard to believe that anyone but a creep would stick up for this film"
"Can you imagine trying to defend this thing? It's like having O.J. for a client."

I dont think that is in anyway true that hostility is only from those who like the film.

However, most of the posts in protest of this film are not funny. They also seem unwilling to see any value at all in the film at all, rather than any form of balance that many of the pro-film lobby seem able to muster. Many of the posts that support the film do comment critically on the editing, pacing, choice of interviewies and so on.

And for what you final claim that anyone who likes the film is unable to produce anything funny; I have to ask what you hope to prove? Does this mean that all comedy fans must be also comics? That all fans of sport must also be sporting? That all usic fans should be able to write or perform music? Frankly I think most of the fans of the film who post are interested in discussing the film and defending it, not it focusing on attempting humour.

Don, you have no sense of humor my man. I thought most of the lines you quoted were very funny. The best reviews are always negative reviews.

The fact that you don’t find at least some of those lines funny proves my point.

Thing is that none of the lines I quoted were used in any way other than abuse. Most of them are from yourself, thanksamillion and BizzyBorden; nothing in your tone at any time has given the impression that the three of you are intent on anything other than causing offence to those whose view differs from yours.

In a different context some of those lines contain elements of "humour of cruelty", not something that I hold high in my personal taste with regards to humour as it normally smacks of bullying or victimisation.

reply

the don,

You are seem like an intelligent person. I think you can objectively discern who the dumb people are on these boards, regardless of your opinion on the film. You and Paul Rodgers have one thing in common, you are both in bad company.

I can only speak for the lines that I said, and all my criticism of others have been vague and in good humor. If you notice I have not taken offense at anything unfounded or abusive said to me, I merely point out how they are wrong, with some light hearted sarcasm thrown in to keep things interesting. Nobody is going to read these posts if they are too serious.

In regards to the other postings, I found them to be similar. There was never anything specific directed to anyone. Calling that abuse is... well, hyperbole.

Firefly, I might point out that you have by far been the most agressive of posters, well, you and this bizzy bimbo. It's okay you didn't like it, but for every single post to be, "there's a conspiracy on imdb", "this film is stupid, you're stupid", "your lack of creativity etc." is just ridiculous.

Pot, the kettle called, you're black. I don't mind that you didn't like it. I disagree, I both thought it was funny and a nice example of the documentary genre. You didn't. And that's fine. It doesn't mean there was a conspiracy, we're stupid or anything of that nature. It just means we have different tastes. Deal with it.

Just knowing that this movie offends people makes me like it more...

You can say that 'potty' humor is infantile, but I see it as the opposite. It takes an open mind to laugh at potty humor. An open mind is a sign of maturity.
So does that make potty humor-enthusiasts 'mature' by the standard sense of the word. No. What it does do is show that those people can appreciate humor that others scoff...
Cripes everyone lighten up, it's a joke!

Interesting, I know a lot of young teenagers that feel the same way about things.

And also, thank you for so eloquently explaining why potty humor is funny. I can’t help but giggle now every time I use the john.

You'd be a much happier person, I guarantee it.
