Why cant foreigners make Films in English ?

After recently seeing this movie I would like to say that it had some good scenes and the actor who played hitler was great but what offended me to no ends is what was the language(I know it was germany related)but why not in the american language-English?

This fact bothered me so much that I gave it a 2/10,as I said...the only redemption was hitler.
The action scenes were poor or hardly present(compare it to saving private ryan's action!!!)
Dont you think that making it in english would have benefited the producers and the film itself what with a wider release and better Box office?
I do not think there are any americans on this board because no one must have heard of it(european film for europeans) but making this in english would have proved beneficial to the film

I'm going to go ahead and assume you're being ironic.

@ronager: You are a kid, and you have catched a lot of flak on this subject because you showed your immaturity and ignorance so openly. I suggest you read through the comments, take the sensitive ones and remember them, and when you grow up, see this film again. But give it 10-15 years. Then you will perhaps see it as the masterpiece it is.

This is also the reason that I have refrainted from throwing insults, complaining about Americans in general and you in particular. There have been enough of that in this thread.

And I'm not an American either.

???

This is a BRD-German movie about a German topic - why should be made in English?

The USA doesn't shoot movies about, let's say, their Civil War in German language, do they?

I am really offended by this thread.

No wonder why the whole world has such a bad image of the americans, it's all because of dumb people like you.

I know... I mean, if English was good enough for Jesus Christ and the apostles to write the Bible in, why can't they simply ignore all those unimportant Third-world speaks? Who do they think they are anyway?

Learn some languages and watch "A Bridge Too Far". It had English, German and Dutch in it as spoken languages, and it was amazing. It adds to the realism.

As mentioned already, the only language worthy of being spoken in this film is obviously german. This film was not meant to be the blockbuster of blockbusters. It was meant to be REAL.

And Valkyrie could have been phenomenal, but sadly I went through the whole film thinking "why the hell is Tom Cruise here? What on earth does he have in common with a third reich nazi?". It never captured me. The story was as true as Der Untergang, but the film wasn't real.

Ps. there is a little thing called subtitles. The rest of the world use them when watching american films (apart from countries who prefer dubbing; sadly Germany is one of them). Surely it should work the other way too?

And the fact is that Der Untergang was very successful.
