Why cant foreigners make Films in English ?

After recently seeing this movie I would like to say that it had some good scenes and the actor who played hitler was great but what offended me to no ends is what was the language(I know it was germany related)but why not in the american language-English?

This fact bothered me so much that I gave it a 2/10,as I said...the only redemption was hitler.
The action scenes were poor or hardly present(compare it to saving private ryan's action!!!)
Dont you think that making it in english would have benefited the producers and the film itself what with a wider release and better Box office?
I do not think there are any americans on this board because no one must have heard of it(european film for europeans) but making this in english would have proved beneficial to the film

You are the type of movie goer I can't stand, and the reason why Americans get such a bad rap on these boards.

Either you're trolling or you're just as stupid as you claim you are. Every movie I see that is about Germany where they speak english (with british accents most of the time) just takes me out of the story of the film, it's not about Germans, it's about Americans/Brits pretending to be Germans, and it just makes it that much less believable.

If a producer is just going for the money, they would make it in english, but thank goodness some film makers these days are still trying to say something in their films or tell a GOOD story, and are not JUST after money.

The more authentic the story, the better the film, in my opinion.

Quit embarrassing us Americans with posts like this!
We have enough people in this world who stereotype us as action-loving reactionary idiots without someone making preposterous statements like this!

If your idea of a great movie is "Dark Knight", fine! You are 15 and have all the emotional maturity of a teen ager,as you should.

But think things through.

Whoa, easy there, pard'ner. haha It's all in good fun to talk level to the kid by using mindless-action-crap examples like Transformers...but The Dark Knight actually was a great film. Obviously, it doesn't have the resonance of something like Der Untergang...but then, it's not a historical drama. For a "blockbuster" and an "action movie," however, The Dark Knight was an intelligent and dramatically sound film. It wasn't just mindless cinematic junk food.

LMAO, this was clearly a troll, I mean he states Michael Bay as the best director on earth...

Because they are foreigners. That and the same reason why you don't use the metric system: because we can.

reply

Why can´t the damn Americans make films in German? Or Yiddish, for that matter.

lol, wow what a thread to start off the arguing lol. Why should foreigners use English, stop being so arrogant and anyway, German added loads to the authenticity of this...imagine those Hitler rants in English, not the same.

Seriously ronager you are just being naive. It's their film they can do whatever they want. That's how the world works. Individuality cannot be removed. You getting me? Sure english is a known language in the world but that wouldn't have helped. They were striving for authenticity and Germans do speak their language quite proudly.

reply

I can only assume you stumbled upon this film, as only people with some intelligence seek it out. Probably not enough 'splosions in it either.

w... t... f...?

There are other languages either than English, you know.
Not to mention, WWII Germans speaking or being dubbed in English would been inaccurate because.... well... THEY SPOKE GERMAN!
