Carl and Ellie in 'Up'. TBH, I'm a sentimental old fool, I cry at anything, but, this did nothing for me. Just the thought of the first 15 minutes of 'Up' sets the waterworks off, dry as a bone for The Notebook

Gone with the Wind and Casablanca are favorites of mine but I am very surprised that no one has mentioned Dr. Zhivago. Seems that all the greatest love stories involve war!

It doesn't have to be war, we girls love drams and we are suckers of doomed romances, war it's just one setting to create that doomed romance
