#1. Jack and Rose. (no competition there)
"You jump I jump"

Romeo + Juliet
"For never was a story of more woe
than this of Juliet and her Romeo"

And DiCaprio (yum) made both Jack and Romeo come to life, just saying ;)

"If I could change one thing in life, I'd make time for us"

Not sure if you mean greatest love story in literature, legend, etc., but since we're on a movie site....

1. Romeo and Juliet (1968, of course)
2. Wuthering Heights (1939)
3. A Room With a View
4. Knight Without Armor
5. The English Patient

There are other greats, Like GWTW and Casablanca, but those are my top 5.

Gigi
Camille
Waterloo Bridge

Random Harvest
Splendor in the Grass (A really good example of first love)
The Quiet Man
Sense and Sensibility
It's a Wonderful Life
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
The Phantom of the Opera

jane eyre

the scarlet letter
othello

I love that you included Gigi (love Leslie Caron) and The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, which I saw much, much later than I should've. I was shocked by how devastatingly heartbreaking and romantic the movie is rather than the lighthearted romantic comedy I thought it was going to be.

I still get twisted in knots everytime I think about it. Rex Harrison was sublime and Gene Tierney is absolutely beautiful- who wouldn't fall in love with her?!

Aliens, hands down. No other freaking movie even comes close.
