I may be a pessimist, but Amour and Blue Valentine for me… and the Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight trilogy.
As for young love, the Spectacular Now and Like Crazy.

Rocky and Adrian. Because all they has was each other.

I'd have to say the couple in UP. They grew up as friends, loved each other, dealt with real life problems, couldn't have kids, still loved each other, and basically were your normal but loving every day couple.

No truer love than theirs, IMO. A lot of movies depict love horribly.

Wow, I think yours is the best post I have read on here. I, especially love that you included these choices:

Camille (1936)-
Le Notti Bianche (1957)- absolutely breaks my heart
Broken Blossoms (1919)
The Cranes are Flying (1957)
Summertime (1955)- Never seen Kate Hepburn so vulnerable, it was very poignant.
The Wings of the Dove (1997)- Helena Bonham Carter is at her best and most beautiful here!

These are some of my favorite romantic movies. I hated the 2002 "Devdas," but I loved the 1955 version, directed by Bimal Roy, one of the most beautifully directed movies I have ever seen.

Have you seen the silent version of Camille with Valentino, it is rather different from '36 version and is even more devastating (if you can imagine)!
