Could Be One Of The Worst Films Ever Made!

When I came to this section of IMDB, I fully expected this movie to be panned, but I was wrong. Now, not to deny anyone else their opinion, but what the hell? This was one of the worst acted, worst written, worst directed, poorly cast, badly conceived films ever made. I can't fathom how anyone...I mean anyone could like this movie. To be fair, I try to find something to enjoy in even the worst of films, but this movie lowered the IQs of everyone I know who watched it. I want my IQ points back!!!

reply

Well, for all those complaining about the direction, would you mind elaborating how was the directing bad rather than just shout it out loud? Do you even know any principles of direction? Have you attended a film school? I would really like to hear how and why the direction is bad.

reply

u r hereby granted 20 iq points, which takes ur total iq to 20.

I've seen this movie four times. I show it to all my good friends as The Worst Movie Ever Made. It took me two or three times to finally understand the damn plot, and even then, I still think it's one of the worst movies ever. Nothing is well explained, many scenes are too long or too short, the acting is mediocre at best, and the plot is really really dumb to begin with. If there's any symbolism in this film, it was written horribly. All in all, I think it deserves its 1.7/10.

You say the worst, I say one of the be.. most interesting. It is indeed a mess, but a comfy one.

reply

What was difficult about the plot? It's not like it's remotely complicated.

Child, you just need to grow up and accept that people different levels of comprehension, enjoyment and perception. Go and watch some pop trash, there is
enough of that.

(Repost) "Well, you know what, i have an iq of 129, a point away from genius."

Well, Hitler had an IQ of 129... so... yeah...

Twelve years ago, I tested at 133. Last year, 135.

This film in no way insulted my intelligence! I first saw it on TV in 2007. I wrote the title down to research it further, and buy it on DVD. My girlfriend had to get it from overseas, as it wasn't released for our region.
I think the wait was worth it!

There is a unique aesthetic present in this film. It's not as polished as say, Avatar (those other blue people) but nevertheless it also reminded me of some older titles' atmosphere - Blade Runner, video games Another World (also French), Deus Ex and for some reason the original Quake.

A worthy addition to the collection.

Everyone are geniuses on the internet. Reason being most have tested themselves on the internet or are lying. Those tests are not reliable in the slightest. First of all just saying your iq is 133 or 135 says nothing since there are different iq scales so 135 in one scale is not the same as 135 in an other. Also about 0.2-0.35% or something like that have an iq of 135 or above. In other words 2 out of 1000 has that iq. It's more than HIGHLY improbable that so many of those 0.2% gathered in this thread. Yet it's the same in EVERY thread where people discuss iq. It's either the biggest coincidence in history or people are have done those tests on the internet where most people of average intelligence can score genius level marks or they're just flat out lying. I vote for the latter. People always seem to overestimate their own intelligence probably because from everyones perspective the universe revolves around them, surely they can't just be average.

reply

Au contraire, mon ami.

In my country, there's been a semi-regular National IQ Test that is very accurate!
A few online tests merely confirmed my previous results.

Unless that is, you're correct in your assertion that the bar has been lowered.
That wouldn't surprise me; generation-Y need the boost.

reply

Randomly those tests wouldn't be accurate, they'd be too general rather than specific enough to measure either end of the spectrum. The tests are only accurate enough in certain ranges, the ones targeting higher IQ's are significantly harder than ones testing a more general audience.

The fact that you used two of the most tired review quotes, namely "worst movie ever" and "I want my time back" tells me all I need to know about your opinion. It's not even your own opinion. You're using some sad homogenised hive opinion that people don't come up with, they just repeat because they haven't got anything creatively fresh, relevant or even satisfactory to say about it.

Delving further, because, why not? I'd go as far as to say that the reason you're repeating other peoples opinions regarding how you feel about this movie is because you just didn't get it. The ideas were far too complex for you to follow. You need to train yourself on basic stuff first, in later years you can graduate to something as finessed and creatively driven as this and appreciate it, maybe even write something intelligent about it. But for now, back to Transformers reviews with you. That where you belong but hopefully that's not where you'll stay.

I just thought I'd stop by and congratulate you on writing one of the single most condescending and pretentious response to an honest opinion I've ever had the displeasure of reading. That's quite a high-water mark on a thread that's been buoyed for seven years by random hate.

My opinion of this movie remains unchanged. It was filled with horrible visual effects, bad writing, cliched dialogue, terrible acting, and unlikable characters. If I so chose, I could list the movies I do like, and others that I do not, and let you take pot shots at those all day, but to what end? You think Immortel (ad vitam) is nuanced and creatively driven. We are never going to see eye to eye on anything, and I'm fine with that, really.

I can only guess (because, why not?) that you possess some unfillable need to tell people what they should be doing, in the tradition of the best busybodies. So, in parting, perhaps you will see the need to train yourself in the basic ability to not let your prejudices cloud your judgment entirely. Beyond my opinion of one movie, you know nothing about me. After hearing what you've had to say, I prefer things stay that way.

7 year thread! Huh, imagine that. I, for one, have just seen Immortal for the first time, and I thought it was great! Combining (deliberately) obvious CGI with real actors, setting it all in a futuristic world of genetically altered humans and aliens, and then adding in ancient Egyptian Gods as the Earth's creators? You honestly cannot get more original than that.

I loved the style of the film, the world was dark and dreary, you could see the graphic novel aspects coming through. Miss France did have some dialogue which I thought was outside of the general tone of the film, but nothing cringe-worthy. And the assassin (hammerhead shark) was built up quite a bit in the film, only to fall to Horus' ministrations very quickly at the climax.

All in all, definitely a recommendation to any Sci Fi fan.

Wow, if I had a dollar for every thread I've seen that says this tired crap, I'd be as rich as Donald Trump...literally, every movie has at least one of these.

If you think this is the worst movie ever made, I suggest you watch some more movies because that comment is so far off the mark, it left the galaxy...and I'm not going to try to explain why, in my opinion, this is certainly not "the worst movie ever made", because with your lowered IQ, you most likely wouldn't understand anyway...

I expected a cheap movie right at the start. I'm writing this in 2013 and I hardly knew anything about this film before I came across it at my library's web-site. I'm not a reader of manga, but I am an avid Sci-Fi reader. I've read some complicated, convoluted and unconventional stories. This one had me confused within 20 minutes, but I stuck it out til the end.
It was just about as clear as mud. I understand the basics of the story. (Hardly anything new there) I think by combining 2 stories to make one movie they may have left out a lot of explanatory dialogue. (Where did any of these characters come from?)
Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but I'm not looking for that one. I'm giving this a 3 only because some of the CGI work was very good

It's only with the heart that one can see clearly. What's essential is invisible to the eye.
