Top 5 movies with the hardest scenes to watch.

1. Irreversible (rape scene)
2. Ichi the Killer (nipple slice)
3. Oldboy (after you find out she was his daughter)
4. tetsuo the iron man( the whole movie is *beep* up... i love it)
5. Cannibal Holocaust (all animal killings)
I have alot more such as Men behind the sun etc, but i only said 5 lol. What are the hardest scenes in a movie for you to watch?

reply

lol at tetsuo you truly need to see that movie to comprehend the insanity it cant be explained

Ken Park - the father/son molestation scene
Gummo - the down syndrome prostitute being pimped out by her brother
Shortbus - the guy sucking his own cock and cumming on his face
Conspirators of pleasure - lol this movies just weird
Once were warriors - uncle bully being a dirty dirty man

I agree with most of the movies on here also thought i would add these ones they arnt my top 5 scenes exactly but i didnt see anyone else list these movies so thought i would so people could check them out.

Cannibal Holocaust just because of the animal killings? Are you kidding me?

Flocke: Come with me, and I promise, I'll tell you everything.

reply

Oh yea, i forgot about the raping with the stone scene and such, but the animal deaths only got to me more than the others scenes because it was real.

reply

The animal deaths didn't get to me because they happen on a day to day basis. Its nothing taboo, its basically what happens to your food before it gets chopped up and packaged. I think they could have killed the rat thing a little faster though...

Flocke: Come with me, and I promise, I'll tell you everything.

reply

I got more than five, I'm sure.

Lemme see...

Precious: Father/daughter rape montage, Mary tossing her newborn grandson across the room, Precious tumbling down a flight of stairs, newborn in hand.

Antichrist: As hard as all of the much-ballyhooed violence in the climax were to watch, I found the opening shots of a toddler falling to his death in elegantly filmed slo-mo to be most difficult on the eyes.

Taxidermia: nasty sex and masturbation scene towards the beginning, all of the vomit in the middle third, and the climactic ending, which plays like a Cronenberg nightmare filmed in extreme close-up.

Irreversible: you already know.

Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door: blowtorch to girls genitals

The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things: Jeremiah raped by new stepdad. Much is left to the imagination, but...just nauseating

Bully: Just the entire homoerotic tension between Brad Renfro and the self-loathing Nick Stahl made me uneasy.

My five:

1) "Passion of the Christ", (torture porn, tedium)

2) "Salo" (sadism and coprophagia)

3) "Dead Ringers", by David Cronenberg, (scary gynocolgical implements, disturbing psychosis).

4)"Dancer in the Dark", (or "Antichrist" or "Breaking the Waves" or "Dogville" or an other of Lars von Trier's exercises in misogynistic sadism). Is this cheating?

5)"Moulin Rouge", (nauseating overly busy imagery, noisiness, silliness, migraine inducing editing and self importance).

I don't think that all of these are necessarily bad films ... just hard for me to watch.

But you ARE Blanche ... and I AM.

No mention of 'Night and Fog'? I don't think it's possible to create a more disturbing 32 minutes of celluloid.

The rape scene was brutal

I saw A Serbian Film and I have to say it's more hardcore than Irreversible.

SPOILER
A man screws a newborn baby, fresh out of the womb. Yeah.

And to anyone who thought Requiem For A Dream was disturbing, I recommend Christiane F, a german film about heroin with a brief performance by David Bowie.

WHAT?! That is wayyy to brutal, I wouldn't even watch that.

reply

The funny thing is that the day after I saw A Serbian Film I saw The War Zone, which also has someone screwing a baby, only this time up the butt.
I've heard they do this in Anthropophagus as well.

No one mentioned Haneke's "Benny's video", or "Caché" for that matter. The shooting scene in the former is brutally relentless, and the throat cutting in the latter quite shocking.

reply

I thought both Benny's video and Cache were very tame...
