I have alot of respect for black people because I am not racist. I normally wouldnt get offended with "white jokes" because alot of black comics are just so funny when they say it. But Martin Lawrence's constant degradation of white people in this movie was just not humorous. Every other line in the movie was "is it because im black?." I would be like "no it's because you're a stupid racist bigot" then i would beat him to the ground. I have no tolerance for racist people, and that goes both ways. Just as a white person has no right to be racist to a black person, a black person has no right to be racist against a white person. Im honestly growing sick of some African Americans using the slavery issue as a means of saying how evil white people are. Slavery ended 140 some years ago, get over it already. I guarantee that if a movie were made poking fun at black people and making them look evil, the NAACP would be suing everybody. And notice in this movie how all of the bad people were WHITE. This movie was not funny in the least and if you found this humor to be funny, you are racist against whites or you are a white person that wishes he/she were black. I dont care if this is just a movie, it was made with obvious racist themes and obvious input from the racist Martin Lawrence, who is usually funny in his films with his racism, but in this film, he just offended white people and if he acted to me in person like he did in the movie i would beat him severely.

You need to lighten up and remove the dick out of your ass. I'm white it did not offend me, how can a movie offend you. I guess you just look for racism in everything, if you didn't notice that this is ment to be comedy well then you're just stupid.You don't have to find it funny but saying it's racism is over the top.

Man I'm white but you know what, I consider myself to be "without colour" and frankly I have discovred that I just dont like white people that much. most all of my friends are asian, brown and black. dont get me wrong, I'm not descriminent tio white people but in general I dont like white people as much as other races. But then again I'm growning up in Burnaby B.C. so it could be just the fact that white people are a minority comared to Asians. What ever, Im also totaly ashamed of white people for being ignorant, bigots who really give other race no credit (of course I'm only talking about white people who do do this) So I cling on to the fact that my grandfather was from Spain and so no one in my family was a slaveowner no one even lived in America. So if anyone asks... I'm Spanish and Canadian.

So did I. But maybe we did not start watching this movie with the attitude of trying to find things offensive. And to some other random comment of some other random guy I read, ofc I know racism exists, there are black racists and white racists and well just about any race have racism but this is a movie and it's a comedy it's not some hitler propaganda film clip.

Now I always watch a movie because I want to be entertained, not to look for offensive things. I didn't even know the movie was about that subject and Martin Lawrence really was a racist in this movie. No question about it. I always watch movies through onto the end, but this movie I had to turn off for being so over the top racist

I watched this movie last night, and it's utter dog poo. One thing I didn't like was Martin Lawrence being racist, and yes I think it's racist.

It was funy the first time he said 'Oh is it because I'm black?' but after that it just got annoying, and then downright rude.

I dont get it.. The movie is making fun of martin lawerence's character who thinks everything that is wrong in his life is because he is black...so in my opinion, you got it completley wrong...it was making fun of martin's character, not supporting it..and the ending also verifies that..

I wanted to jump through the screen and break my foot off in martians ass for that role. That character sucked ass and was a racist POS. Kick him in the yogurt snake til it falls off them make him eat it.

If you watch it as whats its supposed to be, ie: entertainment, then your either going to say that film sucks or it was great..

And I thought it sucked and was racist.

But this thread is still alive? Eh well, I guess I'll wait another two years to post in it again.

I agree with ya Samurai, he definitely went overboard and made if obvious, I think he really feels that way. It came out too strong in the film to just be "acting". He seems like he had a chip on his shoulder. He probably is friends with Kanye West, they probably hangout together, lol!

Hey retards, martin lawrence was playing a character. This character mocked black men who yell racism at every little thing. It was exadurated and ridiculous, and meant to be funny. You guys are crazy to think that it makes martin lawrence racist.

Well lets look at something.

Dave Chapelle Tells white jokes all the time, and everyone loves him.

The guy that played Kramer tells a little black joke and is suid, and forced to appologize on national TV. This is how it always has been and always will be. White people are the least racist people and we are blamed for the opposite. If black people didnt want to be called *beep* they would not constantly call each other *beep* and they would not use the words in their song. Slavery ended. I have seen many pics of white people being tortured, and i take no offence. Blacks will use that slavery bull crap until the end of time. If u find one single person that was alive when slavery was illeagle, complain to him.

patlyon, your "logic" is a litte bit flawed.

First of all, chappelle tells jokes about every race equity; black,white,hispanic,and asian.

Secondly, kramer wasn't telling a joke, he went off on a racist tirade. And he wasn't sued either.

And third, not all blacks use the "n-word" on a constant base.

The way I see it is that it is over. We "whites" cant change what SOME (as in not all) of our races ancestors did. We are not proud to say "hey, my Daddys Daddys Daddys Daddys Daddy killed "black" people just because theyre skin was darker", but at the same time, we cant change it. All I see the "why, cuz im black" excuse as is just a way to complain and get what you want. GET OVER IT AND GROW UP! Im sick and tired of "blacks" constantly complaining about something that happened 140 years ago or so. Trust me, you may not think that still goes on, but I hear it all the time. Dont complain about the past, look towards the future. Racism will still go on as long as people have hang-ups about the past. People are different, so live with it, though I have to say I am sick and tired of the "Yo yo yo, whats cookin, dog. How ya doin my brudder. Whats up my homie, G?" talk. This is not an accent, this just a pointless way of jacking up the English language! "Black" people deny that they are racists against "whites", but I know there are "black" tacists out there too. For example, there are alot of different organizations and things set up just for "blacks", and "OH, thats OK", but If an organization was made just for "whites" and "whites" alone, "oh, THATS DISCRIMINATION! HOW DARE YOU?" This is not right, this is not fair. GET OVER IT! Here is another thing that crosses my mind:

If a Jewish person walks down the street and sees a German guy, I would bet anybody that he doesnt look at him and scream "NAZI!", or if a Jewish person was yelled at or told to do something by a German person, I bet he doesnt look at him and say "WHY, BECAUSE IM JEWISH?"

The way I see it, Martin Lawrence is absolutely hilarious, but I do think he is a racist. The humor in this movie was all funny except for 2 things: 1. The Racist jokes and 2. Every bad guy is made white and all the higher authority and good guys are black (Montgomery and that Cop dude). I know this is a statement they are making without just saying it out loud.

Anyhoo, to make a long speech short, SHUT UP AND GET OVER THE PAST, AND STAR ACTING LIKE YOU LIVE IN AMERICA!

wow fool did you think before you wrote this? im mexican and if my people went through anything as close as our darker skninned brothas went through then I would be holding a grudge for life. how can you say they dont have a right to hold grudge even if it was our ancestors. I see what the white man does to my people the hispanics and how yall use us it aint nothing new. the big difference is yall cant kill us. better watch what you say. and this movie is not racist in anyway. its a movie remember. you dont see people claiming edward norton is a real life racist because of his part in the movie? so chill out if you dont like martin lawerences movies then simply dont watch them and save yourself the hassle of having to some onto this site and writing about how much you dont like the guy. damn pinches putos

No one would DARE tell a Jewish person about the Holocaust to "GET OVER IT!"

Blacks in America went through a holocaust that continued well after the end of slavery, even past the middle of the 20th century.

We are not "complaining" about what happened. We are pointing out that the effects are still with us, daily. Whether others want to believe it or not.
