Martin Lawrence is a Racist person

I have alot of respect for black people because I am not racist. I normally wouldnt get offended with "white jokes" because alot of black comics are just so funny when they say it. But Martin Lawrence's constant degradation of white people in this movie was just not humorous. Every other line in the movie was "is it because im black?." I would be like "no it's because you're a stupid racist bigot" then i would beat him to the ground. I have no tolerance for racist people, and that goes both ways. Just as a white person has no right to be racist to a black person, a black person has no right to be racist against a white person. Im honestly growing sick of some African Americans using the slavery issue as a means of saying how evil white people are. Slavery ended 140 some years ago, get over it already. I guarantee that if a movie were made poking fun at black people and making them look evil, the NAACP would be suing everybody. And notice in this movie how all of the bad people were WHITE. This movie was not funny in the least and if you found this humor to be funny, you are racist against whites or you are a white person that wishes he/she were black. I dont care if this is just a movie, it was made with obvious racist themes and obvious input from the racist Martin Lawrence, who is usually funny in his films with his racism, but in this film, he just offended white people and if he acted to me in person like he did in the movie i would beat him severely.

I stated in another thread in this forum that I liked the film because it shows love for the security guard. Well, I must've been sleeping or high since no such love or creativity exists.

It's hard to imagine that this was created and directed by white people. It feels like some half assed social indictment on 21st century American races. Martin Lawrence is a belligerent, hypocritical, and unapologetic racist. One almost feels his true identity slithering through the screen.

Shut the *beep* up! Cut all the politically correct *beep* Martin Lawrence makes very good caucasian jokes in this movie, they're quite hilarious. I'm white, I don't wish to be black, I'm just someone who knows to appreciate a comedy without all that PC bs.

If you're having trouble determining whether or not something is racist, here's a little trick.. Turn the tables. Use your imagination and reverse the roles of the two lead characters. Try to picture Steve Zahn's character telling Martin Lawrence's character that he doesn't condone interracial relationships except when the man in the relationship is white. Then picture Steve Zahn's character going to a party with a lot of black people and saying "It's so damn black in here, my pupils haven't adjusted".

If you've done that and you're still too stupid to see racism when it smacks you in the face, then I'm sorry. I'm sorry that your IQ is below 70. By all means continue to argue about it.

LOL! I see it from a completely different perspective. Maybe you are just too negative about it.

To me, this movie is about 2 people who are (amongst other aspects, of course) confronted with things that are racist or might be considered racist. Which I think is a good thing, because there is racism in the world, as well as racists on all sides. To me it's worse if something is portrayed as if it wouldn't exist, instead of just showing it.
Now, despite all those things these 2 people end up being a team. But not only that, they eventually overcome all of it and even become friends, because once they got to know each other better, they realized it was all just BS (the hatred)... And no, it's not because I'm stupid or naive, to me this is really the central message of the film.
The way I see it, all people who are so focused on seemingly racist scenes, totally miss the point.
No offense, but claiming Lawrence is a racist is (again, to me) ridiculous and absurd. I like that he addresses these things. Over the years it has also become his running gag, sort of. So in a way, he was even making fun of himself. Just maybe.

It's a light-hearted _comedy_ man! Even if I tried I couldn't have taken anything serious in this. Both Zahn and Lawrence had me laughing my ass off for half the film! This movie is about having some fun and if you give it a genuine chance it might succeed at that.

im irish i dont wish i was black and i found nothing in this movie offensive, the 2 of them were idiots and i found it quite funny

Well there are people in the world that are constantly using the excuse of being black. And Martin Lawrence's CHARACTER was one of them. And they used that to bring satirical humour to the film. Which worked sort of.

Yeah ok, not the best film in the world. But the blacks and whites make nice in the film. And everyone knows Martin Lawrence's CHARACTER (again character, it's not Martin himself who's a racist) is absurd and ridiculous. It's not very funny but I don't see it to be very offending either.

It's the way things go. I know this is an ancient post but I just happened to see it so I'll throw an opinion in. If a white actor had a movie making jokes about blacks, he would be crucified. Black celebrities can go on tv and radio everyday and say how the white man is racist and trying to keep them down. As a white person, I feel no guilt about slavery. My family never owned slaves, they came here from Ireland and Scotland. I had nothing to do with blacks being brought over here (their own people were selling them by the way) and I think that most black Americans are happy that they live in this country. If they are not, I am willing to pay for their trip back to Africa on the condition that they live the rest of their lives there.

On a side (way random but just as important because I live in the South) note, the Civil War was not fought over slavery (it's a liberal lie). It was fought over economic reasons. The North was trying to crush the South's economy. Most of you will never here that in your history class, but Robert E. Lee was not a slave owning racist. He fought for the south because that's where his neighbors were and he didn't want to fight against them.

I know that it has nothing to do with the original post, but I'm just tired of white Republicans being told they need to feel guilty for the past.

Part of the vast right wing conspiracy
