What's the saddest part of the show for you?

As funny as this show was, it was also really sad at times. The saddest part of the show for me was when Sam finds out Cindy is not the girl of his dreams after all. While I watched the show for the first time there were sad moments however, I always said to myself, don't worry Sam and Cindy will fall in love But once they're in that theater you know things are starting to go south. This show showed how things don't always work out in the end and I loved the show for that but sadly, that's probably why most people didn't watch the show.

All of Nick's scenes. One that particularly stood out when he breaks up with Lindsay. You can tell how hard that was for him.He was trying hard not to break down in front of her and then we see him crying in his car.Poor guy.

When Amy is crying in her room because she thinks Ken told her secret to everyone. She was actually really brave to reveal something so personal about herself.I don't think most people at that age would have the courage to revel something like to a guy without feeling judged.

I know this is an old thread but after watching the series on netflix this past weekend I needed to do some research and find out how I missed this gem. I'd say that it just missed my demographic when it aired. But now that I'm a little older I can relate to the show and the days of being in high school. This show is so well written and seemed to pull 2 or 3 emotions out of me with each show.

There were a lot of sad scenes but for some reason the one that got to me most was when Lindsay received the rose from Nick and he misspelled "wait" in the note. You could see in Linday's face that she finally realized a relationship was never going to work. Of course the one when Sam came home and his parents had gotten the atari for him was pretty wrenching too.

One of my favorite scenes is when Sam and the coach have the talk about the porn movie. The facial expressions of Sam from horror to laughter was awesome. I've never been a real fan of Tom Wilson because of his Biff character and my extreme hatred of bullies. Mr. Wilson totally redeemed himself to me with his character. Just when you thought he would let them down, he'd pull through with reason and understanding.

The saddest scene for me was in the pilot episode when Lindsey sticks up for Eli and it backfires.

Saddest? Probably when Neal finally reaches the garage door that opens.

The show definitely crossed an important bridge that episode, + Ken finally opening up & being interested in Tubagirl.

Sam's running to his dad's arms after seeing the new Atari was very moving & well handled.

Wanna know the real saddest part?

DVD re-watching & seeing there's only 1 disc to go!

At least the dozens of commentaries make it for a great double dip through the series lols.

Another sad part was the series ending without the Freaks finding some real purpose in life.

Probably in the episode when Sam tells Neal about seeing his dad with that woman at that mall and Neal freaks out saying they're lying and Bill tried telling him they just thought he should know and Neal says something along the lines of "You don't even have a dad!" and Bill replies "I do too!... I talked to him three months ago..." They never really mention it again but it was just kind of one of those "Oh. Oh..." moments

Also almost any scene with Eli makes me want to cry and hug him. Especially when he broke his arm running off the bleachers and he's just crying and screaming.

So many sad moments, pretty much all of them have already been discussed...

But the Nick moments seriously kill me as they hit so close to home:

- When all the freaks are making out in the theatre, my stomach starts to knot up when Nick mentions how painful it is for him.
- The final episode before the disco dance dance off is hard to watch as well. When Nick and Lindsay have they're final talk and say their goodbyes, she sees how good of place Nick is in and that's the Nick she wants to be with. Then when they glance at eachother but at different moments, they were just never in sync but at that moment, for once they were yet they'll never know.
