I think they mean like overcoming obstacles, father and son wanting different things, following your dreams, getting away and breaking the norm. Things kind of like that. I'm sorry thouugh, I can't think of any at the moment.

sharealright, yeah, i get it. unfortunately, i can't really think of any either. If you liked october sky though, try watching "the war" with a kevin costner and a young elisiah wood. i know costner isn't exactly a-list anymore, but it's a decent movie.

One more movie with a really intense father/son difficult relationship is Return of the Jedi (1983).
It deals with a father and son who want different things in life, yet are able to reconcile with each other at the end.
