I can take the hate ...

... but to my ear, Janeway sounds like a Leprechaun. Close your eyes and listen.

reply

Ha! With an Irish accent you could be right.

Although I always thought she sounded just like Katherine Hepburn. That is until I heard her recent voice work in the Prodigy series. Her voice has deepened with age, she sounds quite different from the glory days of Voyager.

First, thank you for not drawing blood. Trekkies can be brutal. (I am one) Also, I had a work assignment in Christchurch just before the 2011 earthquake and was heartsick to see the devastation. People were so kind there.

reply

Why would I? It was a funny post! I agree Trekkies can be brutal but some of us do have a sense of humour.

Yeah the Christchurch quake was a tragedy, people are still suffering the emotional and financial effects to this day. Thank you for your kind words. I’m not a kiwi by birth but I have lived here on and off for many years and I agree, New Zealanders are amazingly kind and friendly on the whole. It’s a wonderful place to live.

Very much so. She actually played Hepburn on stage in a one-woman show based on her life, called Tea at Five in 2002.

reply

She also played Mrs Columbo.

reply

Janeway is always angry. It gets tiresome.

reply

She's angry because she's responsible for the Voyager being in its little displacement predicament.

reply

To paraphrase Will Farrell in Elf, "She's an angry Leprechaun!" ;D
