The Fugitive (1993) vs In the Line of Fire (1993)
which is better?
shareI'm going against the grain here and saying I enjoyed this one more.
shareBoth top class films but I think The Fugitive clinches it. It’s propulsive and urgent, whereas ITLOF is more meandering and cools off in places, especially the romance scenes with Russo - that’s not a bad thing but it means there’s an energy drop here and there. Fuge is also filmed in a more raw docu-realist style - you can really ‘taste’ Chicago in that film, whereas Fire is more glossy Hollywood.
Actually, both films are by excellent directors who criminally don’t get gigs anymore, Andrew Davis and Wolfgang Peterson, despite the fact that they wipe the floor with today’s Hollywood hacks. In fact they don’t make intelligent, masculine thrillers like Fuge and Fire anymore, it’s all tedious woke twaddle for degenerates. Shame.
Fugitive hands down. Can't even tell you how many times I've watched the fugitive. Only watched in the line of fire a couple times.

shareThe Fugitive, but In the Line of Fire is damn good too.
shareDang...they're both great films but The Fugitive edges this one out by just a hair.
shareThe Fugitive.
Tommy Lee Jones was the perfect choice, made the film and had the most memorable lines.
It's almost that he really didn't have to act, because the character was so close to his true personality.
Jim Carrey, the complete opposite of the serious Jones, told a story saying that Jones approached him at a restaurant while they were filming a Batman movie and told him "I can't sanction your acting"in the film.
