shareI love Drew Struzan's posters but they shouldn't have gotten him for this movie. The design is pretty similar to Struzan's Raiders of the Lost Ark poster. This is one of the few cases where I actually prefer the DVD/Blu-Ray covers to the poster.

Drew Struzan's posters are usually brilliant but I have to agree on this one - it makes the movie look like a magical fantasy film or a lighthearted adventure flick like Indy.
shareI agree, the poster is absurd and absolutely does not convey the spirit of this movie. I think the DVD picture is better, just Connery in his Franciscan robe on a black background. I think it conveys a little bit the setting and the atmosphere. Simple, medieval and dark. The theatrical poster is too... flamboyant. I think flamboyant is a good word for the theatrical poster. And if there's one thing this movie is not, it's flamboyant.
