Sorry but heres the truth

Since part 4 called itself The Final Chapter, every scene in this and every other Friday the 13th film afterwards is all a plot hole

reply

I really wish people wouldn't misuse that phrase.

reply

What phrase? Are you denying part 4 is called The Final Chapter?

reply

That is the title. It isn't a plot hole. That is not what the term means.
Final Chapter is a title. It isn't part of the story or the plot. Jason dies and is buried. In part V a different person is the killer. In part VI he is reanimated.

A title is meant to inspire interest. It is not part of the story.

The term plot hole is widely misused. Every apparent error, mystery, lack of explanation, or action that the watcher wouldn't take is referred to as a plot hole. That is not what the term means.

Thanks for clarifying. I take back my plot hole comment

True. I always looked at Parts 1-4(or 5) as the end of Jason the human. The trilogy of 6-8 is the supernatural zombie version of Jason. Supernatural Zombie Jason should've ended again after Part 8.....but we all know it didn't.

The title of part four is just a matter of convenience, millsey72. The makers of the movie have arranged for Jason's death to be possible, but not necessarily so. That might be a cautious practice in case if viewers lose interest in the series after the fourth movie. The primary reason is to joke a bit with the fans, saying that a slasher, who can always be revived somehow, will be killed. It works every time for holding the audience.

The truth is the Final Chapter was the last of the OG Friday Films with Part 5 being the Metallica Black Album of sorts where it was both the last of the good and the first of the bad. With Part 6 they modernized the series with a little touch of Hollywood Wokeness and first showcased Paramount's shame in their product ala "Some folks got a strange idea of entertainment" and a Hallmark Channel type vibe,

Then came Part 7 which was just a straight up Care Bear Greeting Card and with Part 8 they actually did a better job than the last two outings giving Jason the Modernized feel he needed to propel into the 90's as the man but like the Ultimate Warrior was supposed to be the man of the 90's it was not be,

Everybody got mad and boycotted Part 8 over false advertisements because there wasn't enough Manhattan so Paramount finally let their inner shame kicked in and dumped it not unlike the demise of WCW from Ted Turners Board of Directors.

So they handed it all over to Lin Shaye or something and they made the same mistake they made with the Elm Street Films and a more modern example such as the Danny Mcbride Halloweens by letting the original director who holds nothing but contempt for the franchise and the fans come back and screw everything up paving the way for the face of 90's Horror to be Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt because the 90's were God Awful once they stopped thinking they were still the 80's and Wes Craven roots for the pink team.

OH...FUCK OFF.

reply

Oh yeah its definitely there, the Woman Executive showing up all the moronic toxic men at paintball and a sex scene where the only titties you seen were Court's. It is definitely an early example of wokeness creeping into our movies.

NO...REALLY...FUCK OFF. 😐

It’s definitely an early example of subverting the TnA factor. Example: when the black chick is reading a Playgirl type of porno mag.

This movie had an American Express commercial in it. Clear sign of shark jumping.

I don't call it a plot hole, I call everything after Part V illegitimate and non-canon. In Part IV, Tommy Jarvis killed Jason. His first hack of the machete nearly completely separated Jason's brain from the rest of his head. His further 21 machete hacks left him in pieces. Tommy was then set up to be the "new" Jason. Part V further sealed the deal by showing him completely mentally lose touch with reality and meld with Jason and become one with him and dispatch the final girl in the last scene of the movie. But of course that whole story line was completely canceled out because I guess people were disappointed that Jason was no longer the killer (which is the exact same thing that happened with Michael Myers when he wasn't in Part III of Halloween). So in my opinion, everything after Part 5 in the Friday the 13th franchise and anything after Part III of the Halloween franchise is illegitimate and non-canon. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Ok, I buy that. The term plot hole is easily the most misunderstood term on this site

reply

Yeah, plot hole doesn't even begin to describe the b.s. with this. More like grand canyon. 😂😂😂😂
