40th Anniversary re-release butchered thanks to Woke

Fuck the producers, fuck Hogan, and fuck woke for this:

Any forthcoming home video versions had better not be this censored woke crap.

reply

Well that's shit. Hogan is old and sick. Who knows what he really thinks, i'm sure he's thrilled with the money and uptick in his fading fame. And I give a toss what they release in the theater. But this sort of thing will likely become the standard for the 4K and future releases so we'll never see the film in all it's original glory. I hate to support a stunt like this but this is one of my favorite movies of all time, I gotta see it on the big screen. At least they gave it a whole new name so you know what the hell you're looking at.

reply

I haven’t seen a wokified 4K disc release of any film before so I think the odds are that a home video version would at least have the option of the uncut version, but there is definitely a danger they’ll censor it and screw over fans.

Existing streaming versions are HD and uncut so I’d recommend torrenting one for safe keeping just in case.

reply

I got like two dozen different copies of this movie in every format they got, it's certainly not going anywhere. Don't even have a 4K TV yet, but I plan on having that proper home theater setup one day. Be a shame not to have the culture shock of junk grabbing in the big city in archival quality. It's one of the better multi-scene callback jokes ever put to screen.

What about E.T. Extra Testicle? Which version of that movie made it to 4K? The real deal or the one Spielberg Lucas-fied? It was bad enough with manics like Cameron using AI to take all the grain out of the picture.

reply

E.T. escaped that terrible fate because Spielberg quickly came to his senses. He realised that he’d be horrified if someone removed the visible wires from the biplanes in his favourite Howard Hawks movies, so he made sure the original version of E.T. was always available.

Lucas has no such respect for his audience, and Cameron actively hates his old films and their fans, totally spoiling their 4K releases with gross digital fuckery.

reply

Thankfully I have the first 2 movies on DVD where they aren't edited by leftists.

reply

You got the double pack?

That was a sweet deal.

reply

Yeah. It was.

reply

My DVD from years ago still works fine.

reply

This is seriously out of control. Mark my words, they are going to start going after the classics such as Gone With The Wind and Some Like it Hot.

I am so sick of this nonsense. 🙄😠

reply

Don't give them your money. That's all they care about.

I disagree with retrospective edits and firmly believe that no film, regardless of the content, should be edited years later to fit in with modern trends.

That said, unless you are sitting there eagerly anticipating the part 3/4 in where Mick grabs the man in the dress by the nuts, I suspect you wouldn’t even notice it had been edited.

Still the wrong choice though. Leave art as it is and let people think for themselves and judge as they will.

reply

You know what this means. Time to buy DVD's of this movie made prior to 2025.
