High Anxiety has to be the most annoying episode. They find Rose taking pills that she got when she hurt her back 30 years ago. And automatically say Rose you're addicted. How in the hell is she addicted to pills that's she's been taking over 30 years? How freaking many did that doctor give her!? I love that they do topics like this but make it more believable.
shareMr. Terrific - ouch what a bad one. Rose is dating a unfunny superhero actor for a failing TV series. There are some funny moments, but overall it fails as a believable premise and when Rose is flying back an forth with him as he jumps, I was like "ok done".
Wham, Bam, Thank You, Mammy - Blanche finds out her "mammy" had an affair with her father, and wants a music box that belonged to her. Ruby Dee is horrible in this, and if it wasn't for the funny matchmaking subplot of Sophia and Dorothy, this would be even worse.
The episodes where Miles comes back after the witness protection stuff is odd. His whole relationship with Rose never went where it should, and the writers sort of just wrote him off. Despite him being the most recurring male character next to Stan. Instead, they marry Dorothy off with a man she just met. It was a touching finale, but Rose was the one that should have been married.
There was also the episode where Dorothy is going out with a lawyer who wants to be a clown. Leslie Nielson played the clown/lawyer. I found this episode very annoying.

I actually liked the two parter of the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome episode, especially the end when Dorothy tells off that doctor who was a complete jerk to her.

shareThe side plot was equally dumb tbh and was further proof that Dorothy tolerated Sophia's nonsense way more than I or alot of other people ever could. In addition to the fact that she walked off of a nationwide commercial that was gonna pay hella $$ because she hadn't even bothered to taste the pizza until that very moment (and that she didn't mind that her own daughter got demoted in said commercial) it's strongly implied that the reason Dorothy sucked so badly during filming was because she had been stayed up to get Rose through the withdrawal the night prior (she mentions having to get up early the following morning for the commercial and very clearly stays awake until dawn) - a plot device that only even happened because Sophia knocked the pills into the sink and didn't mention it until it was too late in the first place smdh
shareI've got very mixed feelings about the episode where Big Daddy passes away.
It is good in its dramatic parts like when Blanche argues with Virginia and when she talks to Big Daddy at his grave.
However, I really just can't stand the scene where she breaks the expensive plate.
Sure, I can see how she's still in turmoil after her father's death and regrets that she didn't see him one last time.
But destroying a collector's item that many people would have loved to buy doesn't make sense at all and only comes across as selfish.
And I get that the plate somehow symbolized to her that she had chosen some silly contest over taking a chance to say good-bye to her father.
But she could have sold the plate instead of destroying it and used the money to do something good!
