When Did You First See This Movie?

Tell me? When did you first see this movie? How old where you? And what was your reaction to it?

I saw a preview of it at Filmex, an old film festival in Los Angeles. So yes, he brags, one of the first to ever see it! It was the extended version in fact.

Today, 4/11/15. I've seen the remake plenty of times but not the original until now.

I enjoy older movies a lot, but this one has not aged well. This genre has been redone so many times that the original cant compare anymore. I'm trying to judge this movie fairly, but its very difficult.

I saw it in the summer of '79, just after I finished 9th grade. My brother was just back from college, and we went to see it at a drive-in theater.

I first watched it around '86 (10 yrs old). My dad rented the VHS from Bandito Video lol. I liked it and and it kinda freaked me out, I'll never forget when Steven knocks down that fake wall omg!!! Now I own the Blu ray, DVD and the Ultimate Edition DVD. Much love to the King of the Dead!

I saw it when I was about eight- I guess from a video rental place and watched it once with my best friend at the time. I remember loving it (and being scared witless)!

Over the next few years my friend and I sort of drifted apart. We still went to school together but we hung around in different circles.

Anyway, years later, when I was about twelve or thirteen my dad recorded it one night when it was on TV at like one o'clock in the morning. I said to this girl the next day, 'hey, do you remember that cool zombie film we saw that time, set in the shopping mall?' She was as excited as I was. She came over to my house that night and we watched it again (and it's been my favourite film ever since).

I know it sounds cheesy, but this film brought us together again as friends, and we still are to this day. So thank you George Romero. There's nothing like a zombie apocalypse to rekindle old friendships..!
