When Did You First See This Movie?

Tell me? When did you first see this movie? How old where you? And what was your reaction to it?

I was 13 in 1987. I had just seen Night Of The Living Dead the Halloween night before in 1986 and loved it. So, I discovered Dawn on a local video store shelf and thought I'd try another zombie movie. I didn't know it was actually the 2nd Romero zombie movie. I just knew I'd seen a great film. I immediately rewound the tape and watched it again. Saw it 2 more times after that before I had to return it.

Dawn has since become one of my top 2 all time favorite movies. I watch it every Halloween night after Bride Of Frankenstein.

Dawn sort of spoiled zombie movies for me. I'd just seen the 2 best zombie movies back to back and soaked up any zombie movie I could find on home video. And I've seen some pretty bad stinkers since then. I'm looking at YOU Oasis Of The Zombies! 😠

I first saw the movie about 10 years ago around 2005. My older brother had rented the film from the public library. I had seen the remake on dvd first a few weeks ago that same year ,and Night of the Living Dead a year before that.

I've just watched it again last night ,and I think I enjoyed it more the first time I saw it 10 years ago. Watching it last night it seemed dated and I felt it dragged it some parts it was okay it had it moments ,but I definitely enjoyed it more when I first watched it 10 years ago.

1979, I was just starting my senior year in high school.

Saw it at a movie theater in Stamford,Ct.

I was already a die hard NOTLD fan after seeing that flick at a double feature with The Other in 1973.

It looks dated now , but I still watch it every year.

HA ha! The Other. I remember watching that as a Saturday afternoon movie special on our local WOFL 35 (central Florida) probably in '83. I was about 9 years old. Damn did it creeped me out.

But DOTD was seen about the same time for me. This when VHS rentals became all the rage and DOTD with the cover showing the Roger character in different stages of turning. I gotta say at the time the movie disturbed me but like a car wreck I just kept going back to see some more.

I am probably one of the few people on this board that liked the remake better.

15 years ago today. It was on IFC, the only time i've seen it on TV. i remember the date well cause it was the same day as my parents 25th anniversary and they went out to dinner and i was home alone, they are celebrating 40 years today. it was a triple feature, document of the dead played first, Martin played afterwards. both movies creeped me out

If time is not true, what purpose have watchmakers?

Midnight show back in 85 and it was a packed house. Song remains the same and The Wall were virtually empty. The first 10 minutes were screams and laughs. This audience even lit bics in honor.

When I was about ten or so. We got a free week of cinemax. I recorded this on vhs without my parents knowing. The first 20 or so minutes made me sick to my stomach. I was so stoked that these people had a whole mall to themselves. It became one of my favorite movies though growing older. This and Army of Darkness, and T2 will probably be my favorite movies ever.

At a midnight movie back in 1979. I was 16. Loved the over-the-top gore and the audience's reactions...a girl in front of me flailed her arms wildly and screeched "Lawd Jesus, hep me!" when the zombie bit his gf's neck early on...she got up and left when the zed's head was blown off.

Today, I went to that old theater. It is now a Mexican bakery. Wife and I bought some tasty pastry...as we left I told her the story of the incident my bro and I still laugh about from time to time. Good times.

October 1979. I was eleven and it scared the bejeesus out of me. I had never seen anything like it before. It also made me a life-long fan of zombie flicks.

Today. I'll be 50 in a month. And I grew up in Pittsburgh... actually, not in Pittsburgh, in the next town over from Monroeville. Often went to the Monroeville Mall.

Didn't really care for it. It had some good horror moments, but there were more gross-out moments. In a good horror movie, I want to be on the edge of my seat, not barfing in my popcorn bucket.
