What is the best gag, joke, or a very long funny skit that happens in the movie?
For me its at the beginning where he is sleeping on the statue and when the national anthem plays he tries to stand while his pants are stuck on the sword (who cant find any ground to stand on).

I liked the part where he swallowed the whistle because that girl surprised him when she blow that streamer! I also liked the part where he was in the ring fighting and he payed that guy, I think, to stand in between him and the guy he was fighting! And in the end he did get knocked down but it was hilarious! There's many more!
When the platform opens in the street and he starts to yell at the guy, and then it raises all the way and the guy is huge, haha.
When he wakes up at the millionaires house and he tries to eat his breakfast, and squirts the two butlers with the grapefruit.

The entire boxing scene of course, especially when the ref and the guy start fighting and the tramp breaks THEM up, lol.

The boxing scene went on a bit too long for me. The statue scene was pretty good at the very beginning. I keep wondering how someone could possibly make this work if was to be remade (not advocating it, it just seems like it would be really impressive if somebody actually pulled it off).

shareI love when The man and Charlie are at the party and every one starts to dance but they two, but were banging a feet. A girl,alone, dances in front of them but none of them approaches her. But then another girl comes and charlie couldnt hold this time, and joins her....however she was with another guy!!!

Two short scenes I liked:
dinner scene: when Chaplin is dancing with the waiter, who manages to keep his tray and food relatively intact even when he hits the floor
driving scene: the millionaire cuts corners by driving on the sidewalk

i cracked at the scene in the dance club, when the girl dancer was brutally choked and thrown by her dance partner.
i also love the scene where the blind girl is washing her flower pot and not knowing that she splashed the water on Charlie's face.
I totally agree with the opening post, that opening scene is absolutely fantastic.
I also like when he goes into the club and shouts at the man for supposedly stealing his hat when the woman has already taken it off him.
I find the boxing scene to be the funniest part of the film.
I also loved that little scene when Chaplin is giving the money to the blind girl and she kisses his hand. He reaches the pocket and gives her another bill just because he's so pleased with her.
I thought the best skit was the restaurant/ice rink, beginning to end. Switching up the chairs and hats, eating the streamer, kicking the ice dancer in the chest. Hilarious!
I also thought the "Be careful while you're driving" "I'm driving?" was one of the funniest jokes I've ever I heard (well, read).
Of course, there are so many funny parts, I couldn't start to name them all.
