Possible Leia Replacement

There have been rumors that she would be the most ideal actress to do any Leia parts for Star Wars in the future (at least in terms of her looks), or at least be a good stand-in actress that they can digitally add Carrie Fischer's face on in post-production. I was so surprised when I saw her all dolled up as Leia. You can see why people would think this about her:

People who spend their time making shit like this are creepy. Very creepy.

reply

Very very creepy.

reply

True.

NETFLIX is full of them.

reply

It does kind of look like her, but I'd rather that if they go the recasting route they just do what they did in Rogue One via CGI.

reply

The CGI in Rogue One for Leia has not aged well. I agree Millie definitely would be a good replacement.

reply

I know it hasn't. Even when it came out it was a bit off looking. Still, that was quite some time ago, and that technology (in the proper hands) can look real nowadays.

reply

Yeah but it costs too much to deepfake an actor for an entire film.

reply

The technology is at a stage seen in the Mandalorian with Luke Skywalker. Getting better, but still not quite right. I think it's also because we know it's fake, so we won't fully accept it. Millie would be perfect - she's not a clone but is pretty damn close, and the right age.

A bonus would be, as George Lucas sorta said, there's no bras in Star Wars. ( . )( . )

reply

To my eye she doesn't look enough like her, but my opinion is irrelevant, and after the last Star Wars series I'm done with Disney's shit. So, again, my opinion on said topic is irrelevant.

reply

She would be a great choice if they did this, but they shouldn't do it. Leia should die with Fisher.

reply

Star Wars is dead.

reply

Nah, it's only mostly dead.

reply

Princess Bride?

reply

Yes :D And in relation to the reference, I use the phrase because the franchise is still slightly alive, due to people's love of the older stuff, and "The Mandalorian."

reply

It died once and for all for me when they fired Gina Carano, at least in terms of any of the Disney-era stuff. Any time some new Star Wars thing is announced now my reaction is officially: Fuck off. Who cares?

reply

She's going to come back, but John Favreau is working very hard behind the scenes to make that possible.

reply

Expound.

reply

Long live Star Wars.

reply

I agree. Aside from superfans, most people I know don't care.

reply

It is dead. It was dead the moment Disney purchased it.

reply

It makes sense. Brown looks a bit like Natalie Portman, Leia's mother.

reply

She could easily play Leia. That would be good.

reply

If the producers of Kenobi were set on the timeframe (roughly 10 years after Revenge of the Sith), Millie was never going to work. Instead they decided to cast a 9 year-old who looks like she is 4 or 5.

reply

Millie is apparently in talks with Disney about a project. The money has to be on a Leia series - did you see that deepfake?

reply

Yes. She definitely has the right look and the talent.
