Destroyed the greatest social media platform ever created
And I will never forgive him for it
shareShut up, you ignorant Commie!
shareoh look, a fascist!
shareLearn this Voltaire quote..."I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It." Learn it and live it, clown.
shareI don't defend Nazis.
shareNazi means National SOCIALIST Party.
shareThe Nazis' use of the term "socialist" in their party name, the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), is often seen as a contradiction because their policies and ideology were fundamentally opposed to the principles of socialism. While socialism typically emphasizes social ownership and egalitarian distribution of resources, the Nazis focused on extreme nationalism, militarism, and the supremacy of the Aryan race.
The term "socialism" in the Nazi context was more about gaining popular support and co-opting elements of the working-class movement than about implementing genuine socialist policies. Once in power, the Nazis pursued policies that favored large industrialists and suppressed labor movements, often violently. This contradiction highlights the broader complexities of political labels and ideologies and the dangers of using them to mislead or manipulate public perception.
"People who say what I don't like or agree with should be censored"
> Nah, people should be free to say whatever they like.
"oh look, a fascist!"
How do you not see the irony here?
"Greatest" is the wrong word. The place has always been a cesspool. More like its the biggest and most popular.
shareSpeaking of twitter, it’s time to get a ‘like’ button on here.
shareI have long been an advocate of this. Sometimes there is a significant back and forth conversation that reaches its natural end, but you want to let the last poster know you saw and read their post, but it doesn't warrant another reply.
A like button would serve this purpose well. Also when you agree with someone, but again, it doesn't warrant a reply to just say, "I agree."
A 'like' button is probably the best innovation on message boards, for exactly all the reasons you said.
On the old imdb boards, there wasn't even a notification for when someone replied to you, not having a 'like' button in todays world is the equivalent of that.
You're not the only one who feels this way:
