He’s the hero of anyone who isn’t a domestic terrorist. The people who he killed were violent thugs who were trying to overthrow the government. They were part of a violent mob and deserved to die.

Although, his story is kind of interesting. Going through a long trial over what was clearly self-defense is pretty crazy too have to deal with.
