I think a lot of people are disgusted by it. Some may also be attracted to them and be disgusted with themselves so they take it out on hating the person instead.
I have no problems using the pronouns. I have no problem with them being transgender and dressing and acting however they want. Doesn't matter to me. But, I will admit the question of, "Do you think I'm really a man/woman?" is what gets me stumped. I can't really say that for sure either way, and I don't view myself as bigoted toward trans people. That's the only somewhat valid point that I can see is worth discussion. But, a lot of people seem to use that question as a reason for hate, which isn't my motive. I just genuinely think it's a very nuanced question.
Other than that, it's whatever to me.
You should have a problem with the pronoun nonsense. Sometimes we have to stand up for truth and not give in to people's delusions. Mentally ill people should be informed of their illness and treated.

I also know that I am attracted to certain types of trans women just like I am attracted to certain types of cis women, yet I still consider myself to be straight. So, that makes me think that this subject is more nuanced than some of these "geniuses" think it is.
Maybe you would say I'm mentally ill for being attracted to a trans woman. I wouldn't agree. Does it mean I think trans women are actually women? Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. I just know that they are there and they don't bother me.
But, some people just seem to have gone way past "triggered" and into a whole new category when it comes to trans people. Some people really sound like unhinged lunatics the way they rant against trans people. That is something I can't get behind.

You should separate being against the people from being against the indulgence of the symptoms of their illness.

The indulgence (treatment) - for them to transition to their preferred gender (as a necessity) and others to support/ accept the trans person which includes professional/medical/professional treatments etc.
So what would be your treatment?
It's promotion of mental illness, for starters. These people think they are something they are not and instead of treatment, we let them believe it because we're too afraid to hurt their feelings.
And even THAT is not enough. Most of us are willing to ignore it at this point. But your side won't stop there. They want to DEMAND we call them something they aren't. use whatever fucking bathrooms they want, and do stuff like this:
