RIP . I just through the Law & Order early seasons, and he was there right before Jerry Orbach. I truly think Sorvino was just as good as Orbach, and he would have been just as beloved by viewers if he had chosen to stay

Was he meant as a permanent replacement? I was under the impression he just agreed to fill in until a permanent replacement for George Dzudza could be found.
