I don't give a shit about his religion. I respect the hell out of TC as an entertainer. He did go a little cooky like 20 yrs ago and lost me for a bit. Edge of Tomorrow was one of the best sci-fi films of its decade. MI movies are great. Seeing him at the Olympics closing ceremony made me feel patriotic which hardly happens anymore.
I think people have issues with Scientology's scandals and predatory practices so maybe think "How could TC be part of that?" But that's almost every religion.
